    Is there any possibility of an updated pack with overhand animations for units like phalangites, Triarii, and other shield-attatched-to-wrists units? I would download the EB animations, but I heard the overhand spear skeleton causes the spear to end up reversed; the butt end would be used for stabbing. Is this the case? If it is, could anyone fix it?

    Nope I'm afraid I will not be making that animation any time soon... maybe some long time later, when all the other changes I want to make are finished.

    I could be incorrect on this, but I believe the statement is slightly misleading to some. I believe speed is referring to their distance movement, not how fast they fight, use missiles, etc. I think that is what you meant, and is how it works. (If not I'm sure I'll be corrected.) I've looked at a few animations and it appears to refer to the across the ground movement rate. This can be changed rather easily with some of the tools IIRC.

    Yes, the speed of the skeletons (as in vanilla) refers to the soldiers movement speed, in particular to their running speed.

    When i use this mod my units will start running in circles then forwards a while then back in circles, any fix for this?

    When i decide to make an infantry unit walk off somewhere to attack someone, they will start wandering around to random places, then back in formation, then all split up, then back into formation.
    I have my R:TW patched to 1.3, so i might need to get 1.5 or 1.6 to fix it.

    Yes the version is most likely the whole reason. No one else has these problems.

    I have V 1.6 (It looks V 1.6ish to me in-game it says stuff like 'Happy to see the Genereal in the unit') but on the Control Panle it says Rome Total War - Patch 1.3.

    I installed this mod, but it never appeared to do anything, should i uninstall and reinstall Vanilla Rome (I have BI) then should i install Patch 1.5 instead of 1.3?

    You need to edit descr_model_battle.txt for the changes to happen.

    I've edited descr_model_battle.txt to the things i needed (fs_s1_archer/gladius etc) but i get a CTD on the screen that comes up after clicking 'Play Rome: Total War'

    Sorry for the double post, but would someone be kind enough to post the .txt file as they altered it, so this mod will work for me?

    EDIT: Or could someone please PM me with a copy and paste of the text from their descr_model_battle (that contains the text to make this mod work) file?

    SignifierOne, wipeout140 has asked you to include your superb animations to my DarthMod_7.0.3 open beta and you accepted.
    I now also here openly thank you and declare after balancing with my mod that they play perfectly without flaws (If someone knows how to adapt them to a mod)

    I can't seem to get the hoplite animation to work. I'm only trying the new animation with the Spartan unit. I have the latest 1.5 version of RTW. I've replaced the original four animation files with the new ones, and I've also edited both the "descr_model_battle.txt" and "export_descr_unit.txt" files as were instructed in the readme. Here are the changes I made in both files:

    I've used this patch successfully with one of your earlier versions, but I just can't seem to get this one working. If the only animation I get to work is the Spartan hoplites, I will be satisfied. Can anyone spot my problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

    The last time I checked, you can not normally use "shieldwall" in RTW 1.5. It takes a special converter like Borsook has in his RTW-BI Enhancement mod that allows RTW to use multiple formations/special abilities from BI 1.6.

    And second, if you really have a ";" in front of "texture greek_cities, data/models_unit/textures/greek_hoplite_spartan_pylos_greece.tga", the game will not read that line. A ";" tells the game to skip this line and go to the next line, so you are not connecting your "greek_greek_hoplite_spartan_pylos" to anything.

    Well, that helped a little bit. I used to not even be able to get to the main menu without crashing to the desktop, but now when I try to load a custom battle with Spartans it crashes when the bar is about 3/4 of the way full. I edited everything you guys said I should, but I'm still having problems. I'd really like to get this working.     Ok hmm, just try to restart the whole process. Bring your original four animation files back, and return the Spartans to fs_spearman (you can keep the rest). Make sure that works in battle. Then download the latest pack version (0.8), overwrite the four animation files, and change the skeleton to fs_s1_hoplite. Then see what happens.
