    Default sound effects help

    I tried to change the individual sound effects of the BI crossbow so that they don't sound like archers when firing but failed so I need help.. I'm not talking about the group volley fire here

    yes I did but they still sound like archers when firing...

    Which files did you change? The one you're after is descr_sounds_units_fire.txt. What you'll probably want to do is create a new entry similar to the slinger entry (i.e. where type is the list of all crossbow units).

    I'm trying to change is the descr_sounds_units_anims.txt. The descr_sounds_units_fire.txt is for the whole unit in which I got it to work but now the problem is when only one is firing, it's sound effect when firing is still like the archer

    Well having done a quick search, you're either going to have a difficult time changing it, or it's hardcoded. The only text file that references the events for the archer is descr_sounds_unit_anims.txt, the good news is that the skeletons also seem to have a reference to the events in descr_sounds_unit_anims.txt. So, if it isn't hardcoded, that means you'd need to edit the fs_crossbow and change the events associated with it. I don't know anything about editing skeletons so I have no idea if this is possible. Even if it is possible to change the events, the game may be hardcoded not to take any new events.
