Does This Look Like A Beach?

I am trying out a new unit card scene. It is supposed to be a beach. Does it really look like one? I straightened out the marine's left leg so his foot appears to be under the water lapping up on the shore.

I don't know if you can make the sand look more particle-ly, otherwise, I would change the horizontal striping to vertical.

I meant turn the stripes in relation to the water. Sorry, should have been clearer. But that looks better already actually.

The problem is the size of the info cards is so small, that details get lost. I have had quite a few textures that I thought would look good, like a yellow cobblestone, that come out unrecognizable.
