I guess there is a reason I've never heard of that game.RTS on consoles...

Some maps have been added by the Lordz and can be used for MP games.

The problem with those maps is that everyone has to have them to play. Not just the host as it was in RTW and MTW2. That means that very very few people will have them and the small pool of mp games has just gotten smaller.
MP is not important to CA as you can see.

And do you know WHY console games are released in 10 times more polished state than most computer games?
Because they're only being developed for one set of hardware. There aren't 80 different kinds of xbox 360 or ps3 (or 80,000 for that matter). A lot of bugs and issues crop up from hardware compatibility. Many developers have said it's infinitely easier to code a game for consoles, hence the relatively slower PC market.
Also, my PC Fallout 3 still has random, annoying crash-to-desktops that set me way back if I'm not mashing quicksave over and over and it's been out since last winter.
It's a huge hassle, doubly so due to the lack of a lobby or way of "getting the word out", I like playing casual games with different people. I don't wanna be playing the usual suspects over and over again just because they are also in the small minority who has the various packs.
"...I'll look for something else. We're surrounded by water. Why are we eating knob?"
3,5 months... still no maps, no centralised servers, no chat/player lobby, cheating still allowed, connectivity issues, constructivism on mp subboards over at yuku constantly ignored.... sigh...![]()
Well, like anything it could be a matter of 'word of mouth' that gets people to load them up. I've seen several MP games played with them so far. Once I saw that some of the maps were being used I've installed them - it's the only 'mod' that I've installed so far. Obviously players who don't use TWC or the Lordz site will not know of them.
However, TWC has quite a few players and I'd encourage members to install them and try and host games with them. After all there are plenty of complaints about lack of maps.
I agree that such things as a 'chat lobby' would maybe help publisize these maps. However, there are various 'Steam Groups' or 'Steam friends' to be able to contact and make these suggestions to.
There is a thread here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=254182 that has the links players need.
As the Lordz have also released a set of map making tools (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=254170) and a tutorial has been made to show how maps can be made with these tools (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=254175) players can create thier own maps and maybe share them with their contacts.
Rather than everyone complain about the lack of maps we should attempt to be proactive and make the most of what there is available.
Maybe, when the 'full blown' mods are produced there will be a set of maps released with them. Making new custom battle maps was easier in RTW as it was possible to find a decent location on the strategy map and use that as a new map (taking note of the co-ordinates before the battle). This doesn't appear to be available in ETW.

I respectfully disagree. Their poor design or lack of thought given to MP caused this. I will not let it go as easily as some people. If they had just thought ahead a little and kept the MP map system the way it was in rtw and mtw2, then everything would be fine I am sure. Ensuring that we need a specific map for each type of game (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4) is retarded. Forgive me, but I can't be optimistic about the future of ETW mp. Judging from past mp support and the current mp system they chose to use...

Well in gaming, just as life, you have several choices;
1) Sit back and complain about something when no matter how much you complain nothing will be done.
2) Do something about it.
If you take option 2 you may achieve something - but it does take a bit of effort. However, sitting back and complaining about something is easier.

I should not have to expend effort because they didn't care about multiplayer. I used a lot of effort on previous TW games and now I have run out.
Just like in RL, when I buy a car I do not expect to have to build or find the seats myself. They are included. So, when I buy a game I do not expect to have to find mp maps. that's kind of how I see it.

So can anyone play E:TW campaign via multiplayer? It is one of the main reason I bought it. Does anyone know?
If not can we get a refund for false advertisement?
I can't believe the lag problem I seem to have. My connection isn't the best, around 1.9mbps but surly that should be enough to play 1vs1?
All day it's been pissing me off, I give out orders only to wait for up to one minute before they actually start moving, an by then of course you want them someplace else...Conplaint thread, should have a rant thread, I'm livid..![]()
