To the Senate and People of Rome,
The reason of this is to inform the House of the kidnapping of proconsul Sp. Herrenius, the governor of the Roman province of Sicily. The event occurred after the trial of an accused, condemned to death, and perpetrator of the crime, named Volcens Rutulus Invidius. Senator Herrenius was taken prisoner by the man, after Volcens's escape from imprisonment, forcing the Senator to take him to Rome. As of now, no news exist of the whereabouts of either the perpetrator of the crime, or his victim.
Letters have been sent to the Basilica of Rome so that the Praetors of the city can lead the investigation that should lead to the capture of Invidius, as well as te location, and survival of his hostage. Given the office of the man kidnapped, I have believed it necessary to inform the Senate of his disappearance.
Strength and Honour,
Marcus Didius Agrippa.
Tribunus Laticlavius of the Sicilian Legions.
