Thanks, I don't think it's under destruction, I think those skins only apply to destroyed artillery. (After it gets hit by a cannonball for example)
I think it goes over these two folders whether guns are displayed destroyed or are animated, because in the first folder there are also all things that are not moving and in the anim, those who can take an active part in the game, they also use the same texture

Like for the ships, the Textures are directly in the model files. You can find the model-files at .../data/enginemodels. So changing the texture is difficult here. You might try it with adding a alpha Chanel to the gloss-map-texture of the carriage, but i have no idea, if this feature is implemented here, as it is for ships. another possibility would be to clone and rename the gun-models and change the textures inside the models with a hex-editor (this is what i made with the ships). This sure will run, but will be very time consuming and lead to big downloads, if you like to publish such a mod. If you work with cloned models, there will be also some tables to change, i don't know which exactly, but i think tobler pointed already to some interesting ones. This would created new guns in the game, you might also need to implement not only the model, but also new units using this model in the game. So i assume new entries in guns to projectiles, projetiles, units, units stats land and the permission tables will also be needed.

mmmm I tried editing textures per faction, under the engine models >> textures, but it didn't do anything, so I guess it's not going to do what I want anyway, which is a bit of a bummer.
