#9 - sounds like it it might be a welsh castle? Castell-y-Bere perhaps?
#14 - exactly north from Rochester - that's essex and east anglia? or more of a NW direction?
or do you mean up north, like yorkshire?

#9 Dryslwyn perhaps

(a lot of native welsh castles have the circular keep and irregular layout -
I must get down there one day and have a look now that we can get access to it)
#14 - NW from Rochester - let's try lancaster castle
http://www.guide-to-castles-of-europ...er-castle.html
(has square keep and the gateway looks like it's in the right place)
i agree to 14 could be lancaster as i can recongnise the coastal layout in the map
Just wondering, will chepstow be included or is that not on the to do list? thanks.
As in you have already shown it?

jw do you have corfe castle on the map
still thinking what castles they are jw have you been to any of the castles of the north east of england
#16 is Castell-y-Bere
Hmm looks like they're all Irish castles?
I'd guess #19 is trim Castle on account of the cruciform keep (unique it says on the wikipedia page.)
will have to search for others when I get time.
(#17 isn't Bodiam - though similar)
---------------------------
guess #18 is carrickfergus castle - looks like similar location.
