Bottom - if #11 isn't Rhuddlan then I'll suggest Aberystwyth - they both a similar ground plan.

@Rozanov - CLose on Wigmore but unfortunately as there was another castle nearby (I think within 9 miles) which had a larger town and they we re too close to fit both I ended up having to go with the larger one (which later became the Mortimers through marriage).

#11 - Aberystwyth is correct. Theyre similar but abersystwyth is more of a concentric diamond shape whereas Rhuddlan is really only shaped like that for the inner walls.

Yep, its Ludlow. Ranked around 35th in population in England around 1300 by one estimate. As it became one of the main power house of the Mortimers (of Wigmore) I had no option. Tehnically at the start of this it should be DeLacy.

@Lord Flasheart - Beeston is a great castle on a relatively very high crag away from a river. Excellent views though. I want to do a verison of Beeston (its in the main campaign) but if I don't then the ludlow one will do as a substitute.

Yes it has got excellent views from where it stands, is consiborough castle in the game as a settlement or otherwise?, that place also has an excelent view over the Don valley in Yorkshire.

It is mate it was in private hands..and restored and turned into an attraction but it went bankrupt and English Heritage took it over.

#15 Lewes castle in Sussex (2 mottes and square towers on keep would be the reasons there.)

#13 Rhuddlan castle - 2 twin towers opposite eachother.

#14 That's a big square keep - so probably an early Norman castle - Rochester?

Right on #13 and #15
(just wanted to show the difference between Aberystwyth and Rhuddlan).
#14 isn't Rochester though. You need to head North. Not sure if the keep is too large (Height wise but its a big one).
