Here is the most recent story of Japanese soldiers being found alive - 60 years after the war ended!! While it may not be a legit story, its still fascinating.

There are loads of stories about Japanese soldiers on those islands. In the seventies, there was a guy on some island in the Pacific, still thinking that the war was going on. Some Japanese men found him, and said that the war had ended 30 years before. The poor soldier didn't believed it, neither when his wife and family said it. He only believed it when his old officer ordered him to believe it :w00t

Hannibal man. After he was expelled from Carthage, he went to the Selucid Empire, to be commander of the navy to fight the Romans. He swore to continue to fight the Romans he commited suicide so that the commanders of Rome could not have the satisfaction of dragging him through the streets of Rome.

Kind of sounds like the excuse used by Adolf Hitler who committed suicide so his body could not be paraded by the victorious Allies and put in a museum.

Anyway, those Japanese soldiers must be very shocked that homeland Japan had lost the war.

difference between Hannibal and Hitler...Hitler voluntarily chose to enter into a conflict with different nations. Hannibal, when he was a small child, was made to swear that he would always fight against the Romans. He committed suicide to protect his honor, much like what the Japanese do, Hitle did it so that he could get out of a problem quickly.
