CTD when assaulting settlements

I keep getting "unspecified error" when I try to assault settlements...all other battles are fine. Any idea how to fix?

This is a very well known bug, and it already is in bug report thread...it hasn't been fixed yet, but there is a way to play it....
just select fort as settlement, than you can select culture, and than change the settlement to which typ you want....

I'm talking about in campaign, not custom battles.

Oh sorry, i didn't know...it sounded like you mean custom settlements...

But it wokrs for most other players, so it's no general bug...
Do you have Xp or Vista ???

That kind of error has usually to do with the kingdoms files for the walls and the boiling oil. But it shouldn't happen in TATW, those files are all there. Does it also happen with wooden walls or only with stone walls?

I'm using Vista...and its eems like it doesn't matter whether its wooden or stone. Happens in all settlements.

In that case I would suggest a re-installation of the mod and it's patches.

You just need to delete the saved games and configuration file in

C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\

And then uninstall everything.

Install everything again and it will work fine !
