probably thermopylae or something like that.

The first is not that funny, the second one a bit though. I don't like the green selection triangles and the unit flags and the sharp edges. (just go to photoshop and blut a litte)

The story shows that phalanx are rather daft, and never turn to face their enemies. Also, it reminds us that when you walk through a germn forest, you'll probably be ambushed. :angry

That's probably because a phalanx typically marches facing toward the enemy, and typically fight in open fields and not the middle of a forest.

Heh, I don't need respect, *tongue* but thanks nonetheless. :cool

Well if you take them out of phalanx formation and have them do a little running, and then once close enough to the enemy, reset the phalanx formation, they tend to get there quicker . I haven't lost a battle when I had phalanxes yet, in fact I won a battle of around 300 enemy vs. about 120 of my phalanx, you just can let them get the sides. Spread the phalanx out if necessary.

Yeah, phalanx are great, as long as you use them properly, and don't let them get outflanked, then they can take out pretty much anything. (Exept maybe a big bunch of skirmishers :sick )

    neeed VERY VERY much pratctice...;-)
You have a certain mentality, a "you vs them" and i know it is hard to see, but it is only your imagination which makes up enemies everywhere. I haven't professed anything but being neutral so why Do you feel the need to defend yourself from me?. Truly What are you defending? when there is nobody attacking?
