thats a funny bug if their ever was one!
"WE WILL SMITE THE INVADERS FROM OUR SKIES! Though they sweep over our lands like the sands of winter, never again will we bow before them; never again endure their oppression; never again endure their tyranny. We will strike without warning and without mercy, fighting as one hand, one heart, one soul. We will shatter their dreams and haunt their nightmares, drenching our ancestors' graves with their blood. And as our last breath tears at their lungs; as we rise again from the ruins of our cities...they will know: Helghan belongs to the Helghast." -Scholar Visari
It's not just for Third Age, this bug is in regular Med II as well.

It has got to do with the entry in descr_strat that declares the settlement a castle. If you give it a city core building, then you will get that comment after upgrading (or vice versa). It was apparently planned for a city with a castle inside, similar to the fortress level of the castle.
settlement castle
{
level large_town
region Nottingham_Province
year_founded 0
population 3000
plan_set default_set
faction_creator england
building
{
type core_building wooden_pallisade
}
From a PM reply
The entry is in descr_strat. I don't remember the exact name of the region, but you have to replace this line (if it is a castle):Originally Posted by bps08
So how do you fix it so that the Castle only makes a dirt rode and a paved road not 2 paved?
With this:Code:building { type hinterland_roads roads }
If the region has a normal settlement then it is the other way round.Code:building { type hinterland_castle_roads c_roads }
