Which banners? You can remove large flags in the options menu.

To remove the smaller flags carried by units, you need to edit the standard bearers. You can edit the standard bearer's equipment in warscape_equipment_themes by deleting the item "flag_pole". This will leave the standard bearer in the units with nothing to hold (although you could replace the pole with a pike, half_pike, or euro_spontoon), but this method has the advantage of being the only edit you'll need to make. You could also turn them into a second officer or musician or anything else.

The other method is to edit unit_stats_land. Go down the standard_bearer ID column and delete all the entries. Units will no longer have anyone to carry their flags.

Yes, but it disable those flags temporary for one battle only , you will need every time to disable them when start new land/naval battle.

I personally have a "war" with those damn floating flags - any idea how to get rid off them for ever??

Don't say stuff like that : "Go to preferences file ,set the values for both type of flags to 2 and save only to read". I done that and it didn't helped!

Deleting user interface panel (from ui.pack file) didn't solve this problem.

Any help will be appreciated!!
