Fountain Guards in Phalanx + Guard Mode is pretty effective. Usually all phalanxes are best in Guard Mode, and Guard Mode is best for attacking them as well. But your sword infantry in Guard mode and let them walk into the Phalanx before you attack, click behind them in walk m ode, when they are halfway in; take Guard Mode off and start the slaughter. I have fought many a Greek or Diadochii phalanx in this fashion, it works.
No no no nooo!!!
Never EVER put fountain guards in phalanx UNLESS you are facing cavalry. FG's may have the phalanx ability, but they are by no means a phalanx unit. They don't have the "very long spears" attribute as normal phalanxed to, which is crucial for a phalanx to have effect. Now when you put FG's in guard mode it will do the following:
-Bonus damage against cavalry (NOTE: trolls are not cavalry, don't use it against them)
-They will start to behave very wierd in battle, making them much less effecive in combat.
(The guards of osgiliath on the other hand, should be kept in phalanx, as they actually ARE a phalanx unit )

Eh? I find they work very well in Phalanx + Guard mode and take hardly no losses while slaughtering their enemies. But then I use MOS and that might make a difference.
Whats the purpose of Gwaith-i-erinthin and how can i build dance guild with the SE ?
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
It seems the dance guild is hard to create anyway thanks for answering ..
If you are playing with Baron Samedi's mod compilation there's a mod in there which allows you to recreate the old elvish kingdoms. I'm pretty sure the dance guild is a requirement for that. You should look for the thread of Baron Samedi's mod in the submod forum. He's got a FAQ section on the bottom of his first post. look for the section of the elvish kingdoms and it should have all the specifics.
I have one question....
When I play as Gondor and I receive the services of Aragorn can he receive the Dead's Army Ancillary?
From the F.A.Q.,that I partially wrote after the release of V3.0, we have:
From this we can learn that:Q: How do I acquire the army of dead ancillary ?
A: You can only acquire it when you play as Eriador and let Aragorn stay for at least a turn in the region of Erech (starting Gondor settlement).
- The Aragorn from Gondor can't receive the ancillary, only the one from Eriador.
- Invasions aren't a requirement/condition to receive the ancillary.

Which faction has the best archers in the game? High Elves or Silvan?
and what is the flattest map in the game? I want to test some things and a flat map would really help or at least as flat as it can get.

Yep, that is correct, and the actual name is "Grassy Plains."
As for the archers Eldarinwe archers of the High Elves are very slightly better than the heavy Sindar Archers of the Sylvans, but is really no big difference. As archers they are both equal, only the armour of Eldarinwe is a little bit better.
Well thank you for both answers. :3 I can't (yet) think of anything else to ask (YET >:3)
I had put a 12 turns per year script into my TATW 3.1 folder and Ill Ducce`s expanded map and I had few interesting events: Silvan Elves and Dwarves were at war(now they are allies when Sauron is unleashed by Mordor getting the One Ring), Mordor and Rhun are enemies with Harad, there was even an invasion on Umbar, Rhun and Harad are the most advanced and exchange places at top every turn. I like this when good or bad factions aren`t allies forever, it spices up things. I`m playin H. Elves and doing pretty good, almost every faction loses one or few towns but takes them again(Orcs of Gundabad are erased by Dwarves). Have like 1192 turns til victory conditions end with 12 turns script, at the moment at 340 turn. Let`s see have things develop.
Hi, my favorite factions is Silven Elves, but i canīt hire Ents (turn 150).
is there any thing I do lack.
Anyone know submode for Elves?
Thanks
