I also have the sound problem.

I have a clean install, with both updates and the hotfix.

I deleted the Medieval folder in Appdata.

    Also, I'm running Vista 64bit.

Nothing I've tried is working, and it was just running fine 3 hours ago

Where do I go from here? I've tried uninstalling, and reinstalling, but all that did was chew up an hours time, and I still have no sound. If anyone has a solution, I'd greatly appreciate it! (perhaps a download link to the sound files, then I could just try replacing it?)

(and yes, I am not on mute, and all other sound is up and running)

ok guys, I got vista and I had the same problem. How I fixed it, i turned off the user account control. to do that u need to go to control panel>user accounts>turn user account on and off. (i also reinstalled kingdoms and the mode but i dont think that the case) After I restarted my computer, the sound miraculously apperared in the game. try it, I hope it helps

freaktong's and vanperzik's ways both work. I only think that they should make their own settlement designs and not just m2tw settlements.

I have the third age 2.1, and I have no sound/white boxes in battles, and no sounds in battles. Everything else runs fine. There is sound on the main menu's like setting up battles ect.

    I went to

    -Program files(x86)
    -SEGA
-and I saw where it said "Medieval Total War II" and deleted that folder... and it still doesn't work. I hope I didn't delete the wrong folder LOL. I have Kingdoms installed. I played a battle on both of the games before I installed Third age to make sure it was installed right. It worked like a normal game

So eh. What should I do?

Still won't work, I've tried doing every suggestion, except reinstalling (I'm not going to do that).
