How to activate Sound with Windows Vista

WTF? i go to the link for the 1.5 patch it comes up as a long list of things like uk gold version and then i scroll down, click download and it just refreshes the page.

I have winrar but I have no idea what to do with the file after i save it. What do I install? There are several folders etc and i don't know whats important.

I deleted the only Medieval 2 total war folder i found in appdata and the music still isnt working.

There is no sound or music when I play campaign in Third age total war.

Go into the folder C:/user/user name/appdata/ and delete the Medieval II Total War folder.

In Vista this folder may be a hidden folder so you have to enable hidden folders to find it.

I'm using x32, so there's no such Medieval II Total War folder.

And all of you are perfectly sure that you have:

-a clean install of M2:TW
-a clean install of MK:TW (all 4 Campaigns not necessary but recommended)
-patched to 1.5

as for sound and Vista - I was going to complain about it being TOO LOUD!

but I turned it down in the options so OK now.

only had option of Miles, not any of the creative EAX versions, apparently don't have the right hardware.

(I have a Creative X-Fi Titanium fatal1ty)

strange as I have Creative Alchemy enabled for medieval II: Total War

- do i need to enable for every mod as well?

ok, so i am a vista x32 user and ive tried all the things above but the sound still wont work.. is there somehow a chance you can send me the sound folder or or patch it? or is that to much to ask of your time :s?

i've tried all the things too but i still have no sound in the campaign and in battles, but i do in Cinematics

I had sound yesterday and now none have tried to find that file and del it but it is not there anyone fixed this yet???

lol im getting same problem one day it just dissapared? and there is no METW folder in appdata im redownloading and reinstalling thirdage will it change it?

well I uninstalled everything and started again, reloaded everything man that takes so long! and now I have sound again.

i reinstalled the mod but not METW and still no sound funny thing is i get menu music

EDIT: i reinstalled everything and still nothing :S????? could it be any realtion to other programs ? eg. WMP? i would be thankfull for any help mean time its FUBAR untill then for such a good mod

yar I only reinstalled third age to start with and it didn't work and then went the whole reinstall, then it worked don't know what you can do sorry, find the file they talk about maybe?
