    Default New Roman AoR

Err, sorry about not specifying the faction I was talking about...

Yes, my idea is to eventually give the romans a slightly different AOR choice by allowing them to recruit factional cavarly only in Italy while at the same time getting AOR cavalry from auxiliary barracks everywhere else.

They would get a more limited infantry selection from AOR pre-marius that will be gone post reform as their factional troops looses AOR limitations.

Still have to think in terms of balance, will let you know when I cook something...

I also agree with you on Roman' auxiliaries cavalry AOR as romans relied on auxiliary cavalry more than infantry. But I will proposed for ranges AOR to be kept for romans too as they seem to relied on them quite intensively while infantry auxiliary were the things they almost not use at all.

The problem with the Romans is that half the time the natives would be put into Roman style auxiliaries, which are already in the game.

At first, I think about made all roman auxilia to become AOR. But from my experience in AI play during bug testing tell me that currently most of the times roman almost can't rampage outside Italy at all and often lost to Macedon(dominator in most of my tests) or Spain(I have only 1 test that roman rampage outside Italy and rule europe). So if we made their auxilia to become distributed AOR among areas then they will perform even worse. I support the idea on made AOR of roman very limit to cavalry and range units without access to normal infantry, camel, elephant and horse archer to made sure that they have Achilles's Heels.

Here is my idea on Romans' AOR barrack
    Gauls&Germania
    - Barbarian Cavalry
    - Barbarian Heavy Cavalry

    Spain
    - Round Shield Cavalry
    - Long Shield Cavalry

    Thrace
    - Thracian Cavalry

    North Africa
    - Numidian Archer
    - Numidian Cavalry

    Balearic Isle
    - Balearic Slingers

    Crete
    - Cretan Archer

    Rhode
    - Rhodian Slinger

    Thressalia&Aetolia
    - Thressalian Cavalry

    Terantum
    - Terantine Cavalry

    Greek
    - Greek Militia Cavalry
    - Greek Cavalry

    Cappadocia
    - Cappadocian Cavalry

    Syria
    - Syrian Archer

    Egypt
    - Nubian Cavalry
    - Nubian Archer

    Eastern
    - Eastern Heavy Cavalry

    Steppe
    - Scythian Light Cavalry
    - Samartian Mercenary

    Bactria
    - Bactrian Cavalry
    - Bactrian Archer

    India
    - Indian Longbowmen
    - Indian Cavalry

    Arabia
    - Arab Cavalry

What do you think about it?

I believe its a normal bow, they have short range.

Suppanut's choice sounds pretty good to me, I'd just add eastern heavy cavalry in anatolia and the cleruch cavalry in egypt as they joined the roman army pretty enthusiastically after augustus' conquest.
