"Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone, you may still exist, but you have ceased to live." - Mark Twain
"I am against nature. I don't dig nature at all. I think nature is very unnatural. I think the truly natural things are dreams, which nature can't touch with decay." - Bob Dylan
"Faith in God means believing, absolutely, in something with no proof whatsoever. Faith in humanity means believing, absolutely, in something with a huge amount of proof to the contrary. WE are the true believers." - Joss Whedon
No Escape.
There's a bit in the middle of this movie where it kind of lulls for about five minutes. Aside from that (and the ten or so minutes when they set the scene and introduce the characters) it's pretty much heart stopping action all the way through. There are scenes when the tension is so thick I was willing the characters to MOVE FASTER!!....
The only blip is Pierce Brosnan who I've never liked as an actor, mostly because he is utter dung at accents and his character and input is predictable, but even that doesn't distract from what is a top film.
8/10...
Just watched it, and it's a well done movie, nicely paced and the main action is very well introduced. I usually don't like when kids have too much of a presence, but that was alright. I used to hate Pierce Brosnan until I saw the matador, now I tolerate him as long as he's not the main character.
for me 6.5-7/10
Yeh I'm not keen when kids are involved while there's brutal things going on, but this one wasn't to bad.

Bone Tomahawk.
I gave this a shot because I like a good grizzled western and the trailer seemed intriguing enough. There's similarities with 'The Missing', plot wise, man's wife is kidnapped by some sort of native tribe (don't want to give to much away), and the town sheriff/deputy/husband and an Indian expert set off to mount a rescue. The pace is fairly slow most of the way but it's never dull if you like considered dialogue. There's plenty of humour but it's also understated in the banter between the four main characters.
And then, the film takes a very brutal turn.
7.5/10

Mr. Robot
My brother had be banging on about this for months but I had ignored him. Randomly came across it and decided to give it a try. Best decision of theing week, 10/10 would watch again. Infact I am. It's basically a show following a young hacker who has serious social anxiety issues. The great thing is that the hacking is incredibly realistic, it's not hollywood NCIS
at all. They use real exploits and such. It has brilliant plot, cinematography, sound and acting. Just a great series.
It is a good series, yes. I was a bit let down due to two things:

Still, a cool series, and Christian Slater is great here. Will be watching season 2 as well![]()
Any hint of Brad would have given the game away, even if it was only a suspicion.
Eats, shoots, and leaves.
Horns
Highly informative.
Especially on the true Nature of Man.
Wish I had those horns so I can find out what people really thought of me.

Two Broke Girls
Saw it when it first came out, for about three minutes; expected it to die but it didn't.
Recently watched the first episode of the new season, and realized why it survived; the show can say very politically incorrect stuff that we tend to think, but won't mention aloud.
Is it worth watching? Maybe in small doses.
Eats, shoots, and leaves.
Narcos, season 1.
Eh, not particularly good.
The protagonist is rather boring/crap as well, although Prince Oberyn is cool as usual
Not sure why they have this protagonist at all. His wife isn't interesting either. In fact all the americans in this show are very second-rate imo :o
Oberyn and the Escobar actor are cool though.
Watched Highlander again yesterday. The first one and only one that should have existed.
Special effects are a bit dated and the villain turns into a silly idiot once he shaves his head, but otherwise its an interesting movie. Especially the historic parts.
The thing that does bother me though is that its not made clear how they gain stronger from killing other immortals, and seeing how appearantly they where born at different dates it seems to me there is no reason they would not be born anymore in later ages. And this gathering they mention never seems to happen. Just four guys come to New York, but we never get to see more than two immortals at once.
Also I don't really get why they even kill each other and who gave them the idea that there would be a prize for the only survivor.
There are certainly some nice touches to the film about being immortal and its understandeable there may be some plotholes due to how difficult immortality is to write.
I will admit to a sincere fondness/weakness of Australian women. That has just about always resulted in seeing a film like Tracks 7.8 because I feel confident I'll enjoy the production strictly due to their aesthetic qualities and accents.
I've seldom been disappointed. It's become a sure bet.
I saw Sarah Snook in a bit part, and thought, "Who is this remarkable actress?" (These Final Hours)7.5
So I had to see Predestination, which was magnificent. 8.0
So, I couldn't wait to see the Beautiful Lie. Yikes, it's unbelievably silly, like a run-of-the-mill creativeless sitcom, but this one fits into the misshapen dramedy category. Billed as "reimagined Anna Karenina" it should have been great. Nope. Not recommended
6.0
However the low budget supernatural horror Jessabelle is worth watching but flawed.
The production is saved by Sarah Snook.
7.0

Antman
Full with cliches, not-so-much surprising as I expected.
Paul Rudd's decent, Evangeline Lilly is electric.
I liked the whole idea of the Pym being sort of a long-lost dynasty that hated the Starks.
'I've spent half my life trying to keep this technology out of the hands of Stark.'
Best line in the movie
Society
Literally, the weirdest best allegory of shape-shifting life-sucking mutant aristocrats I've seen.
Worth every penny.
And they even showed it on British TV.
Forever
Movie about mass-suicide and love.
Meh.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2
It didn't take long to realize after leaving the theater that the trailers gave away almost the entire plot of the film, except the ending. Still pretty good on its own merits to watch a second time.
Overall: 7.5 / 10
Not sure I would go that high, 6/10 - I liked the prior ones but this one just had too much angst, I have read the books so knew the ending anyway but it was not as strong as the previous films. Though the Mutts, even though you knew they were going to appear still made everyone in the cinema jump.

Have to agree with that. Between the four films, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, from the basis of storytelling, character development, presentation, and pacing, was far better.
Coming from someone who hadn't read any of the books, it was evident throughout The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, the writers were going to tie up all loose ends as neatly as they could, which they did to a point, but in some ways it was kind of messy. Additionally, if they'd cut out 15-20 minutes it would have improved the pacing, because it felt like the final act dragged on a bit too long.

People I know
This was a sad, sad movie filled with sultry women, missed chances and a very medicated Pacino.

Here's some more Australian cinema that's worth watching.
The Rover 7.5 the final survivors in a dystopic hardscrabble Austraian outback collide due to a stolen car.
The Hunter 7.5 deals with a hitman on the trail of the last Tasmanian Tiger and to make some amends for his life.
Somersault7.8 a very young and brilliant Abbie Cornish is seduced by her mother's boyfriend, destroying her family, and she runs away to try to survive.
Oscar and Lucinda 7.8 relates a tale of two quirky souls electing to gamble on the most odd dream.

Life During Wartime
Todd Solotz does it again.
This is like Happiness mixed with American Beauty.
It's sad and terrifying yet brilliant and funny.
Forgiveness is a big theme throughout this movie.
Every character deals with guilt and consequences of their actions.
Everyone is flawed, no one is safe.
