There is a lot of gossip about Leto (his cult, that he is a pain in the ### during filming...), it just bothers me that he is so "ethereally handsome". Personal prejudices. Like I want to blow up his face "fight club" style

He is 52, so chances are he won't be handsome for that much longer
Tom Cruise took his time before he aged, but now has aged.
As far as I know after he was the Joker in Suicide Squad, he did get only negative reviews from then on. IMO they insist to cast him for roles not suited for his face and skills.
Anyhow, re watched a classic, Saving Private Ryan.
More than 25 years old and still the best WWII movie ever made, everything that came after it copied it, in one way or another. You get to watch the integral version to see the best of it.. I was 20 when I first watched the movie and I just finished to serve my military service, it literally blew my mind and I still can't watch it without strong feelings.
If by any chance you missed it, go rectify this fault.
He was 46 when he played his greatest role ever

I am not a fan of ww2 movies, but of those I have watched I'd say Come and See is the best one (a russian movie).
Saving Private Ryan didn't feel serious to me at all, with all the heroics and forced narrative.

The Beekeeper (2024)
Pretty solid and entertaining. Some funny spots and well-balanced dosage of action.
I've heard good things about this movie, planning to see it for sure.

The Orville
Started to watch it back in 2017 and dropped it at the end of Season 1, restarted with Season 2 just a few weeks ago. Now, first thing first, I did not have much confidence in MacFarlane, I like the Griffins and American Dad, but IMO they are overrated: some people see them as masterpieces, I just see a lot of stuff that is pushed beyond the limits "just because so". Anyhow, with this in mind, Season 1 wasn't memorable, sure some solid humor, but way too much wacky at times and that with frat-pack taste that personally I don't like much; I wasn't impressed at all.
Season 2 is a way better product, I guess this has to do with Brannon Braga joining the team. If you don't know him, he's a writer and producer famous for his work in the Star Trek franchise (two movies, plus ST:VOY and ST:ENT). The humor component remains, but from now on it is used also as a "base" to build up serious discussions, basically it turns from a simple Star Trek parody to a more mature product: interracial conflicts, ethical debates, investigations on the nature of the human spirit, what can be defined alien and what not, etc. Also, some great battles, with a very strong Star Wars tingle into them (and that's good, because Star Wars ones are way better than those of Star Trek, IMO).
So it turned from a pure comedy show into a tragicomic one and you know what? The sensible difference between those first 2 seasons works wonderfully now, if anything if adds further depth to the new dimension of the show.
Looking forward now to start season 3 (The Orville: New Horizond), I'll leave the trailer here below, for your viewing pleasure

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)
If you liked the first movie or you are a fan of the main stars, you should check it out.
Anatomy of a Fall (french film).
It was meh.
Leave the World Behind (Julia Roberts' version of The Happening with a de-happening last minute twist)
It was even more meh.
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
I found it to be better than I expected.
Infinity Pool.
One interesting idea, which however led nowhere and was cheapened by everything else.
BlackBerry : OTT characters make the narrative mildly entertaining
air : boring throughout
Mortal Kombat (2021)
It was ok for a watch but none of it was particularly memorable.
I.S.S
Well, this was a missed opportunity.
Buuut... at least the Russians aren't portrayed as monsters in this one.
So, yeah.
This looks simply awful and moronic. No relation to Franz Kafka and made for who knows what crowd of non-readers.
I adore this series!
Just saw Hazbin Hotel. Giving Fringe a shot.
