Just saw Eagle eye, it's ridiculous what hollywood thinks computers can do
EDIT:
Just saw J.C.V.D. (Jean Claude Van Dame)
Jean Claude van Damme plays Jean Claude Van Damme, an action actor past his prime who only gets to play in straight to DVD action flicks who is also about to lose custody of his daughter, he decides to go back to his home country in Belgium tot he city of Brussels where he grew up, in Schaarbeek he enters a post office that gets robbed. Witnesses point him out as the robber and a hostage situation and media circus follows.
It's a nice movie, a really nice movie to be honest surprising, he can actually act, and it's nice to see him mock himself, his background, his straight to video/dvd crap etc..
Here's a spot on imdb review:
JCVD is an excellent surprise. It's a kind of dramatic comedy where Jean-Claude Van Damme plays with great conviction his own role in life. This starting postulate, to tell a passage of the life of a movie-star on the decline by the person himself, makes the movie sail between fiction and autobiography. This original and ambiguous concept propels the script in a tasty, funny and tragic reality/fiction realm. One can think sometimes of Pulp Fiction.
The famous movie-star, Jean-Claude, is surprisingly right and touching. Van Damme plays here the role of his life, in all the senses of the words. There will be a before and an after JCVD. The central monologue of the film, a rare feat of ingenuity, a long one-shot sequence of the star made up of his doubts and his anguishes, is bound to become a classic.
The film is however not perfect. The flashbacks are well carried out but some scenes seen twice can be somewhat long and would have been improved by being shortened a bit the second time around. This saved time would have made it possible to develop the supporting characters, like the police chief, a bit more. Speaking of supporting characters, those are somewhat caricatures and with one dimension.
JCVD reveals itself as an excellent surprise. Far from being a hollow marketing ploy, this film, probably the best of Van Damme, is a true success that deserves to be seen.
The question now is what will Van Damme do next?

Just saw: "Lovely Bones" by Peter Jackson, a tense thriller if you like with some funny and cute moments. A nice watch indeed and worth the money me thinks.
Do check my AAR "The Proud Blood of Germania"
Formerly known as JerichoOnlyFan.
And my other AAR: "The Black Serpent"
The Edge of Darkness starring Mel Gibson
An incredibly failed attempt for a movie. Ultra lame plot, corny lines, giant plot-holes and a dramaturgy that does nothing but confuse when there is nothing tobe confused about(get it? lol).
I looked forward to a Mel Gibson movie after 8 years of not starring in any, but I guess the director known from the two great Bond movies Golden Eye and Casino Royal got bored by the script he accepted.
Just saw Chariots of Fire. Rather good, I must say.
Yesterday I saw, "the Hurt Locker", albeit somewhat good and entertaining I cant see how it is nominated to Best Director.

No Country for Old Men (8/10)
I'd given it a 10/10 if it wasn't for the lame ending. The cynicism and everything else in the film was absolutely great, all in all a good film
I should also have mentioned that I watched Shaft for the first time yesterday. It was... interesting.
"Who is the man that would risk his neck/For his brother man?/SHAFT!/Can you dig it"
I just watched Black Hawk Down, 9/10 really good war movie.
Just watched Videodrome for the second time. I still don't know what the hell is going on in most of it.
EDIT - Just watched RoboCop for the first time. It was pretty good. Bonus points for the disgusting scene where the toxic waste guy exploded from being hit by the car.

Inglorious Bastards.
It was utter .
Shutter Island
Great movie with great ending
And DiCaprio is great actor
Saw recently: "A serious man" and "Shutter Island"
My thoughts: Serious man, well nothing really happens and I was bored, I didnt see much sense in the history, sad, cause I had high hopes for this one.
On Shutter Island: Great acting by DiCaprio, and an incredible movie from beginning to end, I had my doubts about this one but it´s really good, altough I felt that there were some weird parts in the plot, but still a great movie.

Its a must see for bible-freaks though. I as a Catholic and Coen bros fan loved it.
Yeah, it really keeps one guessing till the end and well rounded film at that.On Shutter Island: Great acting by DiCaprio, and an incredible movie from beginning to end, I had my doubts about this one but it´s really good, altough I felt that there were some weird parts in the plot, but still a great movie.
Just seen Everybody's Fine starring Robert de Niro.
Good little movie with a great message but very depressing.
De Niro is great again though.
Just watched Brazil again.
And I think I died inside a little... That film is just one giant mindfsck.
Just saw "10,000"
Most retarded film ever

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The only thing real good about this film is that you start to discuss with the people you're watching it with about the war in Iraq, or war in general.

So, I finally saw Avatar, it looked verry pretty and allmost impressive (would be more impressive if it didn't give me deja vu feelings towards next gen games cutscénes), but the story was just dances with wolves in outer space mixed with every WOW/second life/generic MMO player's biggest fantasy and secret wish.
I liked the visuals and the action, but wasn't too pleased with the rather blatant: "War for resources is bad m'kay, the military are a bunch of trigger happy douchebags m'kay and so are the corporate CEO's m'kay" message it tried to propagate. that just annoyed me.
Can't we have a "war is glorious and profitable" movie for a change?
