Fallen Leaves
Probably the best movie I've seen this year

Rebel Moon
Well, this was rubbish.
Not sure which franchise Zack Snyder copied most here:
Star Wars or Warhammer 40.000?
Only time will tell.
Hope they burn all copies of this movie.
Dream scenario : a welcomed originality. Does cater to fan of N Cage like me.
Nothing to Lose (1997)
Good comedy!
The Chosen.
I am not one for religious movies/shows....but maybe I am thinking none of them really appealed to my generation. I am only four episodes in and it has been emotional and great.
The Promised Land (2023), which is the translation of Bastarden
Actually a good film, starring Mads Mikkelsen. It has a very danish scene near the end, but overall worth a watch.
Great to see a positive review from Ciriaco
The Lair of the White Worm (1988)
Awesome film. Bold and fun af.
I have watched that.
What can one say
I remember Lovecraft writing about how the book (the movie is based on) was hideously bad and ruined what (in his view) was a potent idea.
I think I read the book, I think it wasn't much worse than anything by Lovecraft.
Deliver Us (2023)
Advertising this as horror was a bit misleading. It felt more like a thriller with with some mystic and horror elements. And considering it as such, it was entertaining enough for a watch.
Sexual violence in skandinavian films seems to be the norm ^^ (well, it's worse in stuff like Dogtooth, so of course not really a skandinavian trait).
I liked the gore scenes.
The absolute ending (not the gory scene I was alluding to) was a bit of a let-down, imo, but I liked the film as a whole and hope it wins best foreign film (if it's eligible).
Now I feel weird, but I didn't see much sexual violence. Now I feel really weird, but I've seen some movies this year with much more sexual violence (rape/bullying).
I understand that the ending could be seen as a bit soft, the movie could have ended two minutes earlier, but it didn't seem like a big concession to me.
got Covid again and had to stay home, watched a bunch of things.
Saint Seiya
mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
It will be easier to say what's good with the movie rather than the other way around: Sean Bean. As usual the dude did a good job, and ofc they killed him
The rest misses in every aspect.. I mean acting isn't horrible in general, but plot wise the movie doesn't stand, it's cobbled together, trying to put as many things as possible in there and not getting even one right.
Wasted opportunity

Long ago I posted about District 9, it's the same director.. bitter movie, touches some exposed nerves. It will make you suffer.
Good acting from Mr Wolverine, for once it's good to see him in a villain role.

Uncharted
Not the movie for me, definitely. I like both Holland and Wahlberg, but I really had to force myself into finishing the movie. Gets boring pretty soon, atl to my tastes.
Loved Bandera's performance, the dude is now aged and experienced enough to play more epic villain roles, IMO.
