What difficulty is everyone playing on now??

Since the 1.2 patch and the latest versions of Imperial Splendour......what is everyone playing on now? Has your difficulty level changed since the patch and 1.076?

Just thought I would ask as I am curious about these things...

I'm playing Austria on H/H. The CAI is very aggressive all around me, but Poland, Russia and the Ottomans accepted peace (they even paid me a lot of money for it) when I had beaten their attacking army and taken a region or two. The battles are harder than in previous versions of IS. And in an annoying way, because instead of just having higher morale on Hard they seem to aim better and fight melees better?

H/H, though with TROM added I might switch down to M/H for Minor factions.

Playin Denmark on H/VH (strategi level). It has been a real struggle to get going but terribly fun. I used almost 1 hour to take Stockholm and had to fight them off twice. I found it to difficult to play VH one the battlefield or more presicely in sea battles. Not sure how VH on battlefield would work now.

VH/M with Prussia it was either that or H/H but i like the more aggressive CAI and the not so overly powered BAI this way battles are hard and theres lots of them you dont get time to replenish your troops or you just cant afford it so you fight tactically and pick your fights. But of course with Prussia you dont really have that option and you end up getting attacked from all sides. Courland and Poland siged one of my cities at the same time and in an epic open battlefield battle i was able to lose all my men near enough and just manage to win. Next turn i have no money to get more troops and Poland take me over

I am playing on VH/VH with Prussia right now, I also have the Prussia realistic mod on, which gives me some advantages in prices.

I'm playing H/N as Bavaria. I've set up a little "Mercenary Empire." I'm surrounded by friends (I also have 10-15 protectorates, I lost count, but the only nation that only has 1 territory and isn't a protectorate is Westphalia...) and I have a full stack marching through enemy territory (Ottomans are my current target), I'll take a city then sell it.
I have more money than I need, and a fair chunk of tech, and it's only 1707...

France on Medium/Hard.... the following factions declared war on me (I am now in 1715):
Wutemberg (from the start of the game)
Iroqui (from the start of the game)
United provinces (from the start of the game)
Austria (in 1705)
Hannover (in 1711)
Westphalia (in 1713)
Savoy (in 1714).

Spain, Sweden and Louisiana are my allies and have remained from the very beginning. I am trying to convince Bavaria to help me but they just don't want to ally with me.

I tried a game with VH/H but virtually every nation listed before declared war on me in the first two turns.

what does battle AI alter? I always thought it was just morale but after last night i am not so sure. Going toe-to-toe with militia with my line infantry on hard I found I was almost losing more men and only won because they broke. Accuracy, dmg and speed seems to be effected too. Got to say that is one of the biggest disappointments to me for Empire. I hate that weird handicap stuff.

Battle difficulty gives statistical bonuses across the board to the AI. I can't play on anything higher than medium because of it - it annoys the hell out of my when my elite Guard infantry lose a shootout to militia.

i hear ya Quixote. Sure the extra challenge is nice but like you said, when militia are outshooting my hardened line infantry, the immersion is just ruined. I will go back to medium as well.

I play VH/H. I would like to play VH/VH, but the AI cheats just ruins the immersion for me. And I can't play normal because that would be just too easy.

I started Spain today on h/h as everyone says it's the hardest faction. It is hard especially using the TROM mod added. Even the Leeward Islands took ages to stop rebelling. I just took Morocco but it'll take a long time to control the place. There's a lot to think about with Spain but best campaign I played so far.

yeap.... I believe IS should recommend M/M for difficulty.
VH for CAI is insane.
H for BAI seems a bit extreme too. A militia can cripple your line infantry.
