The common culture of a tribe is a sign of its inner cohesion. But tribes are vanishing from the modern world, as are all forms of traditional society. Customs, practices, festivals, rituals and beliefs have acquired a flut and half-hearted quality which reflects our nomadic and rootless existence, predicated as we are on the global air-waves.
ROGER SCRUTON, Modern Culture
Wow, apparently people from Norfolk sound like zombies or something.
And people from Dudley, wherever the heck that is, sound wierd.
People from Oxfordshire sound extremely posh!

Another head aches, another heart breaks. I'm so much older than I can take. And my affection, well it comes and goes, I need direction to perfection, no, no, no, no, no. Help me out, yeah, you know you gotta help me out, yeah. Oh don't you put me on the backburner, you've gotta help me out, yeah. Interesting find Wil... although why the hell doesn't it have the major English speaking nations? They've all got regional accents, they should have them up as well.

Nice find. An interesting project. I hope they get a voice from Solomons Island, Maryland, probably the most 'English' accent in the US (stuck on an island for a long time).

and heres me thinking all americans had one of 3 accents; southern, "american", or black. turns out they have like 10 gazillion, like the english. i learn something new every day!
I like how they have a separate accent for my hometown (San Diego, CA). I grew up with that accent, so I never noticed it. But when I was in South Africa, the chicks there were telling me that I had a sexy accent lol.
Dudley is in the west midlands and they are known by us Brummies as Yams Yams due to them using Yam instead of you and people think people from Birmigham sound like that but we don't....well some might!

Producer's daughter: [enters] Hi mister. Thanks for fixing my doll.
[hugs him]
Larry: Aww, don't worry about it sweetheart.
Producer's daughter: [looks at him, scared, and runs out] Mommy, mommy. The old man's in the bathroom, and he's got something hard in his pants.

Yeah well accent is stereotype. They completely missed out most of England, the origination of the language, and therefore my home (and current) residewnce isn't even nearly represented, nor is Scouse (Liverpuddlian). Grrrr...

The Belfast one isn't very good. A real person from Belfast has a VERY thick accent.
Brummy accent is stereotyped as summit like biiirrmingum which is stupid because i live near birmingham and only the tards sound like that.Originally Posted by BKB
