    The Curia in general.
    That post in particular.

I think Brewster should be ostrakonized for spamming the "new citizens post here" thread.

while it might only take 10 seconds to vote in a random manner, it sure would take much more time to read through the Protalamos bs.
and while there is a real world out there, full of petty politics, why would one waste 10 more secconds on matters of no real consequence?
those who still enjoy the Curial RPG, or even take it seriously, should at least make an effort to keep others involved.

and why did i bother to comment this? i do not even know...

Why? I don't care if someone can't be bothered to be involved and I can't see any reason why I would care. It's an entirely optional institution that citizens have access to.

Why should others make an effort to keep the people who think it is bull involved? If they don't want to than that's no problem, it's voluntary and if you can't or don't want to spend a few minutes reading through the Curia and participate in the "roleplay", you shouldn't.

The only requisite for citizenship is past contributions to the site. Nothing is said about participation in the RPG from there on. Many of still contribute to the site in many other ways other than this RPG. If you wish to participate, be my guest and enjoy the roleplaying that goes with it and leave the rest us alone.

this is the heart of the matter. If i was forced, or harassed to participate in the curia i would resign my citizenship. Indeed, i have been enjoying the irony of being pmed over a proposal to pm me...

Just because i don't bother with the curia doesn't mean i don't contribute to the site in other ways. Indeed as a moderator i participate in a fairly solid way. And i'm happy with the dictatorship that is our benevolant hex anyway.

So you want badge reduction as long as not yours?
Then why an ARTIFEX will agree to be exactly the same with a citizen?
Why someone that offers real things should be consider equal to those that offer NOTHING but chating?
    Does this look fair?
If does not....why we just don't remove "citizenship" and its badges plus the privileges that follows that badge and leave intact the Arifex ones?
This is a site that offers game modding.
Its not a subversion of Facebook or Twitter.
So the ONLY people that deserve some kind of badge as minimum aknowlegment are modders of any kind, not chatters!
Badges are NOT what keeps people in TWC. It the huge variety of mods for any TW game and the constant technical counsil for them.
If you discourage modders with any minimum aknowlegemnt what do you expect to happen to TWC?

I wonder...Those that want to put "in the same sack" modders and chatters...do they realy want what is best to TWC site?
An Artifex IS a Citizen. A Civitate IS a Citizen. Artifex and Civitate are not ranks, they are only titles. The only time in the Constitution where Artifexes are mentioned is when it is talking about when a peregrinus becomes a Citizen, he/she/it can choose one of three badges to display under there avatar. The Artifex badge was designed by TWC artists with the idea that usually modders would use the badge. That does not mean in anyway that Artifex is a rank.

You did not apply for Artifexship, you applied for Citizenship. Also, don't belittle the people who earned their Citizenship by not modding, they did not earn their Citizenship by "chatting", otherwise every Devian would be a Citizen (Cahoma as a Citizen, my god). If the Artifex badge disappeared, do you really think that all of the modders here would leave? Even without the Artifex badge, their contributions are still noted by TWC otherwise CDEC would have never approved their Citizenship application.

FYI, I don't really care what happens with the badges.

    *sigh*

One of the main problems with the Curia:

The Curia doesn't do anything important > The Curia is useless > proposal to make the curia less than useless > the curia needs to do something else before it can be trusted > the curia doesn't do anything important > the curia is useless > proposal to make the curia less than useless > the curia needs to do something else before it can be trusted

No trust in the curia combined with no leeway for the curia to prove itself makes it useless. I like the curia as a way to make the site more fun in terms of awards and such, but perhaps it is time to discard any notion of the curia actually doing something important for the site.

The curia provides more than it's share of gaffs, screw-ups, sad, erroneous, self-delusional power plays, and more snickers and giggles than the run of the mil episode of "Laugh-In".* So that's something at least. But also it provides role-play entertainment value{for some} and of course every once in a blue moon some member stumbles in there and posts a diamond in the coal bin.

I guess I'm just becoming more curially cynical over time...I watched it fall from grace with the doing away of the Speaker role and then just fade into redundancy...I would like it to be a way for non-staff members who legitimately want to contribute in a meaningful way to do so, but I don't think its a realistic goal unfortunately.

I do think its a bit of catch-22 where, the CVRIA is seen as useless as it doesnt do anything, but then those critics refuse to grant it any power to make it less useless.
