The CdeC appoints a Pro-Curator if the Curator is removed, so no issues there. If the situation gets so bad no one can wait for them to vote, you'll like get some kind of Hex intervention. Also unless anything's changed since Omni was in charge, assistants have limited powers due to the whole Antwerpen thing.

Anyway, I did put an (Assistants: ...) thing in the Curial Officers list. Doesn't make them officers, just means they got their names put there

Theoretically the exact same purpose that the three month period you must wait before patronising anyone does, so you can figure out what the deal is. Watch the way things are done and learn ^^

And as far as the "I want to contribute but can't" angle goes, there are plenty of ways to contribute the site that don't involve the Curia and a lot of very practical ways to contribute to the Curia without being CdeC or otherwise. To be honest you've managed to walk straight into being Curator's Assistant LW, baby steps man ^^

Perhaps though wouldnt one assume that members would learn the pleasantries of the curia prior to becoming a citizen?

Although not in the Curia I must say that the "New citizens post here" thread is going horribly off-topic and there wasn't even a new citizen posting, Magicman didn't show his face there yet. I see similarities with the "Welcome to TWC" thread here.

As far as it goes the forum in which that thread is located is basically just a spam forum with a membership requirement, not that there is anything wrong with spam fora in the broad sense of creating a community.
