I think you guys would get answers faster if you would send a pm to someone who knows how to deal with your issues.

You can't expect people to check this thread when no one posts for a while, modders also lack the time to keep checking. So again sending a pm would be best, it's not a big effort (I know by experience that a pm will get a better/faster response).

hmmm strange, i did everything in the tutorial but all i get is a strange crackling noice instead of new music i changed the music, but it just doesn't work, i've let the game rebuild the .dat files and the .idx files (i got backup though). It seems that the game doesn't rebuild those files properly. the origional events.dat is arround 110MB or something, but the re-builded 1 is 91KB?!?! any1 here who could help me with it?

when you extract the .idx and .dat files, create a new folder called music and place there your sounds and rebuild the files.

im not sure i understand step 2 at all. so we should copy those text files into third age data and they will then become for example descr_sounds_music(2) since they are not overwriting. so basically i should copy but keep both files?

You could ask Koultouras which culture they use, or you can look it up in the descr_sm_factions.txt file.

someone please update the instructions so the music can be changed also in the version 2.1

i simply can't do it, something doesn't work, it just plays the defaut music

another thing would be a guide to change the sound of the horn, i have one that i would like to use, but it doesn't work by simply replacing it

Baron, could you please update this post for Third Age TW 3.0 as soon as possible?

    Yes, it's strange.

This method no longer seems to work for Third Age 3.0. It's worked fine for me in every other version I've tried.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but the game won't play any new music I try to add using this method.

Baron's method still works for 3.0? I am running on windows 7, and I run into problems when using the IDX Extractor. The problem was solved a while back, when Baron posted alternate instructions for Vista/Windows 7 users that included an extra download file. However, the download is no longer available, and I cannot get past the steps using the IDX Extractor. Can someone PLEASE help me out?
