For people like you (vista users) who for instance can't get the IDX extractor for some reason get to work proper, I uploaded a rar file with the mp3 files so you can download them directly. See this section of my tutorial :
Note: for the people who can't get the IDX extractor to work proper, you need to download the following rar.file. It contains all the music files of TATW (these files are original and in NO way edited by anyone). Extract it in: …\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\data\sounds.

That is not possible since the game would not read them and play them accordingly. So to give an answer on your question: No

    Nice!
Thank you! You make a really great job.
According to me, your topic would be stick!
The mp3 list of TATW is really good but lots of people want adding LOTR's mp3.
Good luck with your future plans, hope everything works out for you.

I've got a problem, again.... lol

I used your file and follow your tutorial. After this, I tested my new playlist.
I tested firstly with the gondor and after 3O minutes, i haven't heard any personnal music. Moreover, I precise that I deleted the originals gondorian's TATW music. I tested too with high elves, mordor and rohan and the news music are OK and I can heard them.
    I verified the "_" . Music.idx, Music.dat, event.idx and event.dat are deleted.
Moreover, I've a campaign (~35turns VH/VH) with the Gondor. It's why, I really want to play with news sounds for Gondor.

    Thank you for your help!

Warlord, ahem do you get to hear EXACTLY the gondor BATTLE music, if you fight with them? Also if you fight in Mordor? As with my attempt, I always get to hear my modded music for my enemies, meaning if I play Isengard and fight Rohan in Helms Deep I get to hear the battle music for northmen culture.
    Why is that?
(Note it only applies for battlemusic, everything else works just fine)

It is not necessary to delete any music files from TATW. If you simply don't like some music files, just put ; before the name of the music file in descr_sounds_music. If you put your own music at the bottom of any list under a certain section then it is more likely you will not hear your music at the beginning when a certain events occur in TATW (start battle, begin of turn, etc). And this situation only apply when you haven't made a personal mistake. Check for spelling, music in right folder, messing up parts of descr_sounds_music, etc. I haven't start a Gondor campaign, so I started one. When I add my own music it plays perfectly in game right at the start when I disabled the other music in descr_sounds_music (background music that is).

Edit: I also edited for a Gondor campaign: battle music, battle music result etc. All works fine if done right.

I think I see an error: your music file names include the part ''.mp3''. If you look at my example in my tutorial with the ''Frodo'' music file, you don't see the name ''Frodo.mp3'' in the folder, but instead only the name: ''Frodo''. Theoretically the game would only read it if the name of the files were:...mp3.mp3. So delete this part from your music file names + complete step 10 and all should be well.

When we used a new music file, do we have a new music.idx?

Yes that's correct. The game rebuilds the event.dat, event.idx, music.dat, music.idx files in sounds folder. You can simply check if your music is included by the game by verifying that these files are larger than the back up files you have made when you have added your own music to TATW. If this is not the case then something went wrong. With respect to your problem I advice you to carefully look again at my tutorial and not to forget something, because there are a lot of things that easily might go wrong. By looking at your pics I already saw one simple mistake you made by not carefully looking at the tutorial. If that doesn't help you, start with a fresh descr_sounds_music file (from step 2) and add one song to one section to one faction (disable the rest, to hear it right at the start in-game). Then add more if things work out. This strategy reduces the number of mistakes you can make when you add a whole bunch of music files.

    * Update: the new patch (1.1) released by KK makes some adjustments to the sounds of TATW. There are for instance a lot of new voices added to the mod. For this reason I uploaded the new text files and music files in the first post. Have fun!

At first: Thank you very much. =) =)

But i've got a question. When there is a battle, comes there only the music of the owner of the region?

When you play a with certain faction in a campaign and you have edited the music of that faction/culture under section [;;; BAttlE MAP] in descr_sounds_music, then you will hear that music in every battle you play no matter at which place you play that battle on the campaign map.

Edit: I found some time to actually play TATW a bit more lately and as I experienced in my Rhun campaign I hear dwarves battle music when attacking one of their settlement. So I can imagine when you add for instance some music to the dwarves section, you will hear this probably when fighting them.
