    Default A Free Trainer?

Does anyone know of any Free money Trainers? I have beaten the game a few times now and I just feel like having some fun with the game. I bought Empires over steam and I am not sure if that effects the way the trainer works. Anyone have a lonk to a good free patch compadible trainer?

Well trainers are lame but I would start at gameburnworld.. however I cannot recommend them because they are against the tos as well as the fact that I have never used one so I do not know if they have viruses..

What ever happened to Game Genie and GameShark, as an aside?

trainers are illegal as they modify the code, linking to sites like that is against the tos and asking for trainers is as well.

Something like a hex-edit program that changes the game slightly so you could for instant press F10 and suddenly get superpowers (or whatever game your playing, In empire I would guess a trainer would give you cash and instant-troops and the like).

I personally think trainers are for noobs. Go play the real game mate!

Uh-uh. Proper trainers only modify things in-memory which is legal (at least if your country follows EU legislative)

And yes, a trainer basically lets you search for a variable (or actually a value) in your RAM and modify it, for example your current money.

No thing is everything. Every thing is nothing.

Right so Trainers = Cheat, like Griefers = Team killers.

    Got it.

Yeah, I bought Action Replay on the DS. You can cheat, but I only cheat for fun or exclusive LAN party content type stuck, never for serious playing.

Right, like Game Genie was an adapter that cheated around the hard coded elements in cartridges on Sega and Nintendo, GameShark after that. They even came with books, or you could buy books (at school book-fairs even!) that had games listed and the codes that you could put into the Game Genie to cheat. Now they have "trainers" as the popular form of cheating.

Trainer: Fools kindly name for CHEAT

Discussing trainers/linking to such from TWC may be against TCW ToS

Using such in Multiplayer may be against the license ToS for MP

Using a cheat to modify some binary data in a save file on your hard disk
or even using same to modify binary data stored on your hard disk in an executable

    1) May get picked up steam client and overridden
    2) Is in no way illegal

I never heard that modifying your game/cheating was illegal before!!

Does CA or Sega really care that much if players shorten there gametime by cheating that much ?

Trainers are illegal? Never heard that before. And even if: so what? People using them harm no one but themselves by ruining their gaming experience.

Okay, trainers are not allowed according to the Terms of Service.
Posts that promote violation of the law are not allowed. Violation of the law includes, but is not limited to:

    • Obtaining or providing copies of copyrighted works or modifications to copyrighted works without permission from the copyright holder. This includes pirated games, pirated music, pirated videos, altered game executables, pirated operating systems, etc. In the case of Total War games, it includes any unmodified game files.
    • Obtaining or providing ways to circumvent copy protection. This includes no-CD hacks, key generators, hacked ROMs, etc.
    • Cheating in online games, or otherwise violating license agreements.
    • Possessing, distributing, or using drugs in a way that would be illegal in most jurisdictions (e.g., owning marijuana).
    • Now, this does not include any cheats for previous Total War games using the ~ key, but since cheats were not included in the initial release of the game, this is considered illegal. Closed, PM me if you have any further questions.
