This mod is brilliant! Well done indeed.

I got the game solely to play this mod, and Robb'ing all over the Lannisters has proven to be supremely fun.

One question: is there any way to start the game from the ground-up? I tried a little bit of the regular version before playing the mod, and the castles/towns aren't fully upgraded. I then noticed that all the castles/towns (for all races) are pretty much decked out to begin with, so all there is to do is really build land clearances/recruit/wage war. Am I missing a setting?

No, you're not missing a setting

As the mod takes place over a small period of time, we'd rather the castles/towns stay the same size as it's unlikely they'd be upgraded within the timeframe of the mod. This was the thinking for alpha at least (afaik!)

Hi Guys, this looks great and a friend and I really want to hotseat it - is this currently possible because when I loaded it up it was not an option I could see - I tried searching but didn't find anything conclusive and wondered if there are some specifics I need to change in the cfg file to get this working?

    Thanks

I think its good its powerd up right at the start(settlements) since in Westeros it is at the timespan the game covers aight, in MTW2 it isnt iaght!

I changed my mind though, aint gonna be martels(i shall be eventually) but i think i shall go for Arryn and add me own character called Eon Stone and make him King by a bit a scheming(killing Rob when i have the chance aight) And i have the right pic in mind

Just waiting to see how the Arry nguys look in 1.0

Not as of yet. We'll consider the option for v1.0

Makes sense. No way around this then eh? I like how my request is to make the mod less faithful to the books...

Well here's another question -- some of the screenshots I saw had upgraded units, while I couldn't get anything of the sort when I played with the Starks. All I could build at my castles/town were available from the start, and any new castles I took just had the same options as before.

Am I missing something here? Is there a way to get upgraded units? For example, beyond "Dismounted Knights," or the starting type of archers?

Units can be upgraded statistically (xp, armour, weaponry), but not aesthetically. This is to reduce skinning time mainly.

I haven't really played much Alpha recently, but in the mod's version here's the general thinking: all units are available from the off-set, at least in theory. Some units though, your higher tier ones for example, aren't available for a few turns, and there is a much more limited unit-pool for these units.

The thinking here, is that the mod begins with the cogs of war already in motion. As such you don't need to build building "x" and reach turn "y" to recruit, say, Whiteharbour Knights, they're already mustering. Again this highlights the short timespan of the mod, in contrast to vanilla's 400 years.

In reference to your archers, dependent on your faction you'd have several different archer units, varying in quality. For example Archer Levy, Crossbow Levy, Riverland Longbowmen and maybe some Myrish Crossbowmen

Hi, so how long would 1 turn represent? 1 month?

I think(if they stick to Alpha time) it is 4turns per years aight?

If that is so, you should lower upkeep costs because otherwise those soldiers would be getting paid extreme amounts of gold per year.
