    Heres my ideas for Faction leaders and heirs that should be changed (Imo)

    OotMM:
    FL: High Chieftan
    FH: Vice Chieftan

    Isengard:
    FL: High Warlord (of the Uruk-Hai)
    FH: Warlord (of the Uruk-Hai)

    Eriador:
    FL: Chieftan of the Dunedain
    FH: Sub-Chieftan of the Dunedain?

    I'm not sure Tolkien would have gone with Chieftain since it is derived from French, and he preferred Germanic words. Perhaps Elder or Headman might be more appropriate, Prince could also work but again it is Latin. Master might work however, from AngloSaxon mæġester, from Latin magister. Tolkien seems to have made accessions for Old English words when borrowed from Latin. You can't go wrong with Lord, maybe even High Lord for the FL.

    I was planning to use Chieftain of the Dúnedain because it is referenced in Appendix A of the trilogy. After the loss at the Battle of Fornost and the death of the last King of the Arthedain in a shipwreck, the men in Isildur's line took the title of Chieftain of the Dúnedain, starting with Aranarth.

    I was thinking about using Captain of the Dúnedain for the heir because I know there are references to Boromir and Faramir being Captains of Gondor. That may get confusing since an army without a general is displayed as Captain (blank) on the campaign map though.

    I'm not sure about this mod...i like the sound of "Johnny Buttercup, High King of Eriador"

    However, what do i need the descr_strat for? Mine is heavily modified, so it would be fine if i could benefit from this mod just by using the both name files

    @Aragonath - I don't think there will be any issues. I don't have it installed, but I will check into it and let you know.

    @Fulgrim - The desc_strat file is included just to update the starting general's names for the modified rosters. All you need to do to make it work yourself is change the general's name to one from the updated lists.

    @Aragonath - The new names files are compatible with RC, but you will need to update the desc_strat file to make things show up correctly. Check the beginning of the thread for instructions on updating the desc_strat.

    Good points with Chieftain (great if you can stick to the lore) and Captain, I don't think the latter is a bad choice, I think people will understand the reference in the lore, 'My king, My captain' of Boromir to Aragorn etc.

    Yes, it will be a go for Captain of the Dúnedain. I'll probably go through the rest of the expanded file to look for other logical changes. I've also got some modifications for Rohan's namelist (thanks again to Hross) that I need to implement.

    FYI. in my mod Divide and Conquer, I went for Commander instead of Captain.

    I didn't go for Commander of the Dunedain because simply its a mouthful, and though I was sort of forced to put the whole thing on for Aragorn (can't just call him Chieftain).. I did feel that Commander Halbarad gave a nice ring... as Commander can be something other then a direct rank (even though Captain can as well) I felt it differentiated it from the standard map Captains.

    I also went for Goblin King, and Goblin Chief taking after previously mentioned Goblin/Orc leaders of the MM.

    I couldn't find anything that was appropriate for Isengard or truly lore worthy. I thought about titles dealing with War, Warlord, Warchief, Warmaster type stuff etc.. for a while until I settled with Uruk Warlord, and Uruk Marshal.

    I thought that the added 'Uruk' really showed that it was a military styled command - and thus that the true leadership was not with them. Though I suppose it is really preference.

    I added a lot of new factions to my mod and spent a long time thinking about their names...

    I haven't given Mordor titles yet, for various reasons.

    My title for Khazad-dum (King) has earned me various wrath of Lore-addicts. However, I follow Lore too, and since my mod established Khazad-dum not under Erebor (through my readings it seemed to be an independent realm) I named it a Kingdom.

    Everyone is yelling for Lord Balin, but what they don't realize is that I have intended/inserted a Lord of Moria ancillary attached to it. So Balin is King Balin of Khazad-dum, Lord of Moria... etc etc.. a system of ranks and styles that most likely would have been used if he had not died. =)

    I think that Cirdan must be in the game, he was the master of the Grey Havens, maybe he didn't leave the Havens at all, but he was the ruler of that regions and the original owner of one of the elven rings.
    So his presence it is accurate and necessary.
    And Elrond himself didn't go very much far from Imladris during many years.

    Nice mod indeed.
    How about some more names for the Dwarves in the future? The ones featuring in TA are all right, but after a while you usually end up having an army of Gloins or Gimlis... Perhaps some sort of nicknames (like Ironfoot or Stonehelm in the books) could be implemented?

    Good idea. I'll take a look at adding some names to the dwarves. I'll also take a look through the book to get some surnames for them. I'll just need to make sure that there are enough surnames to add so that we don't start getting lots of repeated ones. I may also look at adding bynames if there aren't any already in there.
