Default Reworked Names V1.4 (1.2 Compatible)

The goal of this submod is to remove unfitting names from the faction rosters and replace them with more lore-accurate ones. The names.txt file has also been reworked so that all names are now in alphabetical order.

If you're not familiar with the files:
    -names.txt goes in Third_Age\data\text
    -expanded.txt goes in Third_Age\data\text
    -desc_names.txt goes in Third_Age\data
    -desc_strat.txt goes in Third_Age\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign

If anyone has any suggestions for names to be added, please let me know.

    Changelog:
-1.0 - Eriador names reworked and bynames added
-1.1 - Dale names reworked and names.txt file organized
-1.2 - More male and female names added for Dale, no changes to desc_strat
-1.3 - Removed names from the line of Isildur from Gondor, added names to Gondor from the line of Anarion, added more names to Eriador
-1.4 - Updated to allow compatibility with TATW 1.2, added names and altered presentation for Rohan, added new titles for several faction leaders and heirs

    Credits:
-TA:TW Team for their months of hard work
-Hross for Dale and Rohan roster list

Good work, but in my ongoing campaign as Dale the names of King Bard and his son Bain were changed, I believe this was due to having the names organized alphabetically, I solved this by switching the new names with the official ones in the descr_names file, this might also happen to Aragorn if someone already has a saved campaign with Eriador. But now the women on my family tree have a coma "," instead of a name, female names are too few perhaps?

Can I include this in my mod , because I'm modifying the descr_strat and I already included your mod in mine.

    Hi,

Thank you for this submod, the new names are better IMO.

Just a question, could you tell me what part of descr_strat you changed, please? Because I've another submod that use descr_start (I don't remember which one), and it would be great if I could have yours with it.

I'm still against using of Eldacar, Valacar and Rómendacil for Dale since as far as we know they were unfamiliar with Quenya but otherwise very good list.

@LL - That is odd that Bard and Bain didn't show up. The only thing I can think of is that their place in the list of Dale names changed in the desc_names file, so maybe it was looking in the wrong place for their name. Maybe try putting Bain and Bard third and fourth in the names list and see if that fixes it. That would move them back to their original place in the desc_names file. Not sure if that will fix anything or not. As for female names, I would imagine that they are just showing up as a comma because their original name was removed from the desc_names list.

Yes, you are more than welcome to include it in your mod.

@Druchii - The only changes made to desc_strat were to remove the old names and add in ones from the updated desc_names file. All you will need to do, for example, is change the general's names from Kip to Arathorn to get everything working right.

@Varjon - I understand about the Quenya names for Dale. I didn't really put much thought into that one. Just used the list provided by Hross. I may wait to see if I get any more suggestions for either of these factions or others, then I will remove them from the list.

Like I said in my post I already solved my Bain/Bard problem, the only problem now is the missing names for the women.
To make your mod save compatible I would suggest keeping faction leaders and heirs (Aragorn, Bard, Bain...) in their original place in the descr_names (Bain and Bard are third an fourth on the list), and leave the original names of the women, having a women with weird name is better than no name. Thanks for letting me use this in my mod.

I will try and come up with more female names.
Varjon and I don't agree on the Quenya names. But since some of the Gondorian characters with those names had contact with Dale at important points in their history, including one of their own being a Gondorian king, I thought it was worthwhile to include them.
I was also going to look at Rohan soon

Edit/ more male and especially female names

Well I can understand Valacar and Eldacar but Rómendacil had basically nothing to do with Kingdom of Rhovanion. Valacar and Eldacar are also a little too royal names but I can understand use of them.

Well I suppose I motivated it since Rómendacil defeated the easterners hence his name, as if Dale would have considered him a folkhero.

There's really nothing wrong in using of Eldacar, Valacar and Rómendacil but Northmen who survived from plagues and wars and moved to near the Lonely Mountain were very few in numbers and most of their folklore vanished and was forgotten. Best solution would be editing of those three names into something more Northmannish. Those names would have changed a lot in time of 1,500 years.

I'm thinking about changing Eriador's Faction Leader title from King to Chieftain of the Dunedain. Any ideas on what to call the heir?
