This is only one motion senator so it will contain one vote for both lines.

ooc; i don't quite undestand ie, i support the motion but am against it for this term - can i reflect that in the vote?
ooc euhm by voting no or abstaining. you should speak out your concerns why you would be against it.

ooc; so i need to get the motion modified before it goes to vote?
ooc yes you can try. Propose a better one and convince the members of the senate.

I agree that we can reset it back to 2 years but starting from next elections.

And why would you delay this change with one year senator?

Such ambition, Senator Crescentius. A most unwise decision, considering the events that have transpired with other men of ambition.

I don' t think you will gain any support senator Crescentius, there for i ask the consul to put up the motion for voting.

ooc
yeah i think stormer has just underwritten any possible support i might have got so stick it to vote as it is
"Shall I move the motion to vote then, colleagues? I suppose extending the governorships now would be better than leaving it for the next year, though I see some sense in leaving it for the next year too...", said Herrenius, wondering about the implications the law would have on him.
"To leave Rome for two years, stuck in a hot Mediterranean island." he thought, "I'll probably regret supporting this once there is nothing to do there..."

Can I just say, that a man can hold the office for two years but if somebody else wants to take control on the second year then we can vote if they can be replaced.
OOC:- Your all against me aren't you?

OOC: well saying that did sound too straight forward for a politician .
Hmm, perhaps that could work, though considering that law would even not affect things right now, and the proximity of the next term, I think I will put the first motion to vote, and later, after that point has been discussed and a formal motion presented, it could be voted on.
Also, if the law doesn't pass because of the part about starting the change right after these elections, then a new one could be voted on the next term without hurries.

let's not complicate things too much. It's enough to revert the term of magistracies back to 2 years.

It seems like the motion will pass senators. I do not expect much resistance any more.
