CA Finds Liberty Offensive

I got banned from the .com forums for posting a link to this picture, with no comment (let alone offensive comment), in "rants and raves" (so it wasn't even off topic). The picture is "Liberty Leading the People".

..Well, here is the thing: It is not really related to RTW or anything whatsoever, neither related to your title " everything you need to know about CA" it's rather misinformative. I am questioning this thread to be locked. I am sorry DimeBagho, but it might signifies a great event in french history and also have some very deep artistic meaning, but i really see no point of posting it on Rome total war forums, and actually no comment. It is rather a spam. Well, banning you was rather harsh thing to do, maybe just a warning would do ok.

Do you get HorseArcher's point though? Give us some context if you have the time, otherwise this is a thread without a topic, or in need of definition.

*Edit* My mistake - looks like the entire thread was erased from history. The thread was a complaint about another thread being closed (the funny pictures thread was closed because someone posted some topless Amazons).

That could be an explanation too. it's "rants and raves" about Rome total war or any total war game, and a topless women thread would be surely be moved here too, for the non-rtw related sections and probably closely watched or might be locked too. they probably deleted the whole thread, since a lot of kids visit the .com forum and they don't want kids jumping to the thread, since the .com forum is strictly about the total war games, not other non-related material.

Just out of curiosity - DimeBagHo you say there where other pictures of topless women, does this mean that all the posters got banned? You were breaking the rules but banning without warning... just seems harsh...

Borsook - The pictures of topless Amazons were in an earlier thread that got closed. I don't know what happened with the person who posted those pictures. The thread I posted in was a complaint about the closing of the earlier thread.

Man that is harsh. It's like contempt of court, only in a forum. EXCEPT, in my country, it's advised that the accused is warned before he is subject to contempt of court. My point being, the law in my country doesnt even behave to that extent. I can see why your thread was closed but a banning without warning is just, well, not cool :cool

I strikes me as both funny, and indicative of the mood over at .com, that they would find a picture of Liberty personified so offensive that it merited banning.

mike^_^ - Liberty and Justice are both often portrayed as bare breasted women. You can find statues of them outside court houses and government buildings in nearly every western country in the world.

Getting banned for posting pictures of topless women says nothing about CA forums, except that they will ban people for posting pictures of topless women, as would 99% of public corporate forums on the Internet. Like, duh. Surely the crusade can find better evidence of perceived oppression than this...

Really. Like which ones? Seriously, you can see images just like that one on court houses, in newspapers, on government buildings, in public art galleries, in museums, on stamps (&#33. Microsoft has that very picture on one of their sites which is open to the public and commonly used by school children - i.e. MSN Encarta.
