    Default The Game's Cheating...

Each time I siege a settlement, a turn later, 6 - 10 units magically appear inside that settlement and they sally out to attack me, HOW is that possible?
I'd say "Okay" if you allowed recruitment while under siege, because that makes sense, but the MAXIMUM number of units recruited at the top-level best-ownage settlement is 4! So how is it that they just randomly appear?
    Example:
I'm Harad, I sieged Pelargir with a half stack, and only Denethor was at Pelargor, -ONLY- him, and guess what? As the turns go on, 10 units magically appear and he sallies out. He defeated me, but I stopped playing because of that, he killed my bloody king.
    So... What the hell?

I think it is a garrison script. The modders knew you would play it, and wanted to give you a challenge because they heard of your superior skills.

That would be the garrison script.

It's actually quite common in many TW mods. But seems to have come as rather a nasty shock to many people this time around.

The AI's supposed to cheat. It's to counteract the fact that you have intelligence.

There is garrison script and money script so AI won't have financial problems neither.

I think that should be lessened a bit. I'm having a hard time conquering Rohan as Isenguard. A castle has little men garrison. I send my men and at turn 2 of seige. I am over killed by the garrison and im playing my campaign on easy.

LOL. If game hard for you - reduce hardness level. I played for most hardcore factions on vh/vh and didn't saw any seriousproblems

Agreed. People shouldn't play on H/H or VH/VH if game is too hard.

This is problematic for players like B5C who are already playing on Easy. There's no Very Easy.

(I don't mean to be condescending to you, B5C. I'm playing on Hard/Medium and I'm challenged by the game. VH/VH is too difficult for me)

Maybe we shouldn't suppose this about too many people though. Lots of movie nerds lurking around.

Man, how can you be playing on easy and still have any challenge? Do you guys actually like strategy games? Or did you just want to feel like you conquered/defended Middle Earth? I can record my battles and post them and you can imagine you're controlling them.

I don't want to hurt anyone. Just said that mod was estimateв for at least medium-level players(better good players). We didn't want to make it too easy to satisfy newbies. Practice more and allll would be good

    Correction on my part!
The AI-massive-armies-show-up happens quite a lot, but sometimes it doesn't, so it's not -THAT- hard. It is quite annoying that you always have to have a full stack to take a city... But oh well.
Anyways, playing as Rhun now (Wanted to try'em out), and I already slaughtered Dale, the method is, just build siege equipment and kill them before they can kill you. Easiest thing to do (And I must say, funnest too. Siege battles FTW!)

Itsn't that hard, sieging Goblin Town being attacked by a almost full stack, with a full stack inside, guess who won at VH (by camping in the corner)

Well.. vanilla medieval2 on vh/vh is VERY easy for me.
I decided to try Silvan elves on H/VH. Didn't expect the enemy to attack me so soon. They took several cities from me while my armies were hunting rebels. I took most of them back and even some enemy settlements, but not the capital. No I am running out of money. But at least it's fun!

I have to say, I'm amazed that anyone would find it hard on easy. Not to be condescending or anything, but I'm on VH/VH and it's actually not that difficult. Then again, I've been playing Total War since RTW was first released. On the other hand, I do also think the garrison script needs some balancing, not to be removed, but balanced.

As someone else mentioned, it doesn't even happen every turn. They already balanced it well imo.

It feels like a major attack always gets a spawn but when you are fighting back and forth over settlements, it doesn't happen.

No offense, but you do sound condescending.
But I agree on the rest of what you said, you have been playing the TW series too long.
I have actually started to get used to the script, it makes it FAR more challenging and helluva more realistic, think about it, if your hometown was under siege, wouldn't you take a shotgun and start going Rambo on everyone?

I am struggling with the Dwarves on H/VH which is hard... But that is just because they are dwarves I think lol, I mean no cav, they move half the speed of anyone else, I hear "Your men are getting tired" Before I can even think, and on the campaign map they wobble around middle earth... however, this is the most entertaining faction I have ever played, just wish i could get my campaign to work... all hail the dwarves!

Yes, and a sword, go out with style
