My expirience with Marka horses has lead me to some conlusions:
Marka medium and heavy horse (same model) was based on vanilla armored horse . Vanilla Pony as "medium" horse is a bit smaller.
The diference is to small though.
An other diference is on the human bodies. Rusichi human bodies are slightly biger than vanilla ones.
I saw that diference in our rosters.
Something that you can not avoid is their neck streching in death animation.
I prefair vanilla one in this matter.
An other issue is the lack of a large number of vertices in armors of those horses. The result is that when horses die their bodies pinning their armor. Remember that vanilla horses have no bodies under their armor.
I tried to combine the marka model with vanilla skeleton/animations but they need huge ammount of work to be 100% factional.
I will let you know what my experiments will show.
Marka heavy horse can be the basis of a large number of diferent armored horses.
See these examples:
Clothed horses
Half armored horses 1
Half armored horses 2
Fully clothed or padded horses.
Armored horses.
All these varieties can be created by the basic Marka heavy horse by ussing "delete", "regroup" "dublicate" buttons in ms3d.

EDIT: You must change rider's position also in the descr_mounts text. That is necesary to degrease the "rider" floating effect.

2nd: No the rider is not big. The "size" has to do with the angle of the photo.
HR_Lance animation and officers animations cause this nasty effect:
HR_spear animation reduses that affect by 95%. That is why we have (in TGC) limited units with the lance animation to units that were famous for that or units that have to long lances to avoid other aesthetic effects:
Long lances do not look good in spear animation.
But medium size or normal size ones do:
Concusion.
Use HR_spear animation for mounted warriors that use short or normal/medium size lances/spears. Use HR_lance animation to units that their lances are way to long.
