This thread is devoted to showing the factions used in Myth.
GREEKS
Strengths: Has a diversity of Greek soldiers and has an array of Greek heroes such as Jason, Heracles, and some others.
Weaknesses: Most soldiers are somewhat slow compared to other nations and they are a little more expensive. Also divided and seperated into many cities.
Story Description: Having recently beaten Troy in a ten year war, Greece was finally able to have their great heroes of the war come home. Thier were many great losses during the war including Achilles, Ajax, Odysseus (who seemingly disappeared), and many other great heroes including the King of Sparta, Melenaeus. The Greeks finally thought they were safe and at peace. But one day, the King of Thessely recieved a message from the Oracle of Dlephi saying that one day, a great war will spread among God and Man alike. Fearful of this prophacy, he sent his son, Jason, to Chiron to have his son learn all of the tricks to war and diplomacy. That was 18 years ago. Greece is now divided, needs a symbol to bond them together, and unite them under one flag as they once did in the Trojan War. So, Jason was charged with the task of retrieving the Golden Fleece from the city of Colchis. This is an impossible task for one hero to accomplish. So, in need of help, he recruited many of Greece's modern heroes including Heracles himself to help him in his journey. Jason knows this will not be easy and to reach Colchis, he must travel through many uncharted seas and lands. If he fails this task, Greece will fall to monsters and barbarians. But if he succeeds, Greece will be united and will have enough strength to keep the monsters and barbarians at bay and have Greece become the most powerful nation in the world... for a time.
ATLANTIS
Strengths: Has elite Hawk Warriors and strong, durable Peltasts.
Weaknesses: Somewhat lacking in heavy cavalry and archers
Description: Atlantis is a city located on an island in the Medditerranian Sea. Its neighbors will be the Greeks (of course) and possibly Egypt. Their elite units are made up of Hawkmen. These units will be quite fast and powerful but expensive. They are the beat Atlantis has to offer. The rest of their army will be vicious mercenaries and militas hired/trained from non-Atlantian cities. They are very lacking in archer units and will make up for them with javelins. They will have to recruit horse mercenaries as they have none of thier own due to past civil wars and lack of arable land.
LOTOPHAGI
Strengths: Has a diversity of ship-wrecked soldiers who would gladly defend thier precious lotuses.
Weaknesses: All soldiers are militia grade and have low quality weapons and armor.
Description: The Lotophagi (aka Lotus Eaters) are a peaceful people who would love nothing more than to eat thier delicious lotuses. But recently, war has come to their isolated island. Determined to defend thier precious deliacies, they tried many times to train their local population in the art of war. Of course, a few months is not enough to make them as battle hardened as the "outsiders". Due to this lack of training, they find lost or deserted soldiers and bribe them with thier lotus flowers. This made an effective way to get some quality soldiers to fight with them. If they keep their determination up, they may have a chance to win this war and save their precious lotuses.
EGYPT
Strengths: Strong chariots and also has Anubites and Horu's
Weaknesses: Weak infantry. Most human units are militia.
Description: The Egyptians were renowned builders and had some of the greatest minds. Their Pharaoh has absolute power and is believed to be the son of Ra himself. The Egyptians currently have some of the best chariots due to their wars with the Hittites and the dreaded Sea Peoples. Also, with the help of the gods, they have the fearsome anubites that are known for their extraordinary jumping abilities, and the keen-eyed Horu's which are unmached in the ways of archery. Their kingdom, which has recently become united (barely) under the rule of one Pharaoh, is under attack from the foul Ethiopians in the south who strive for the fertile lands of the Nile and their in independence of Egyptian rule. There is also unrest from the southern Egyptian settlements who seek independence. While the Egyptians are striving to survive, there is word of hope. If the loyal subjects of Ra unite and find the pieces of Osiris and bring them to the Head Priest, they can save Egypt from certain destruction at the hands of the Ethiopians and the unloyal subjects of the Pharaoh. But if they fail, Egypt will plunge into darkness.
