gave this pack a run and i must say it is very good.the loud cacophony of the musketry now resonates across the field like the thundering wail of the valkyrie above the crackle of the pyres.very well done,I commend you for compiling this work sir
Why do the cannons have a delay? Like you see the shot fired, and then there's like a second delay before the sound goes off. It sounds like it would if it was off in the distance, like a bolt of lightning/thunder, but it happens when you're right on top of the cannon in the youtube vid.
Ooooo gotcha. That makes sense. It didn't NOT represent the mod well (the sounds are fantastic!), I was just confused by the "echo" lol
I've had the time to play some more battles with this combo of sounds and its certainly added more enjoyment to the battles for me. Don't know really how to describe it other than it adds a 3D depth to the sound across the battlefield. Pretty cool, and makes you want to crank up the sound.![]()
Hi, just like to say thanks very much for this excellent mod , have to agree with Carbide makes me wanna not only crank up the volume, but buy some new bass bins and 7.1 surround, was gonna ditch this game until I found this brilliant forum, the game was uninspiring, drab, frustrating (CTD) sound problems etc!!!! until I discovered all of these wonderful Mods, Yourself/Gerald Duval, Darthmod 1.5, Mech_ Donalds, Bloodmod 1.2, AUM 1.5, (will thank later lads) Anyway gotta get back to obliterating Elephants!! and Camels with mortar and cannons. Artillery in the 18th Century!! now I know why British Artillery were called DROP SHORTS!!!! once again cheers mate!!
I just tested it.
That's the best sound mod I've tested so far !
The thing I love most is the sound of the cannonball impact on the ground. Now that rocks.
That was exactly what I was looking for : better sounds, but not too much though.
I didn't test the naval sounds, and I didn't hear a great difference of the musket sound too.
Have to say, these mortar and cannon sounds are closer to the real sound of Artillery using this mod, than I have ever heard in a game, I am talking from experience, in the Vanilla game they use Hollywood Artillery sounds as do most movies that portray Artillery bombardment, Well done!!! And just as a matter of interest, even with modern Artillery weapons shells can be seen leaving the muzzle and the trajectory can be followed depending on elevation, whether light or dark etc!!! To a certain extent this is true for modern assault rifles, especially in rain or drizzle even without tracer rounds!! Just in case anyone was interested!!! However I agree that the vanilla tracer effects are a bit much though!!!![]()
Now my favourite Sound Mod..Well done to al concerned Rep to all involved including the originals
E8400 on Asus P5N32-E overclocked to 4.00ghz with arctic cooling
POV GTX 285 XP (SP3) Crucial Ballistix 2gb DDR2 RAM
Im really happy that you all like the mod, +rep for Obushnikov and GeraldDuvals that made the sound.
Just wondering, when are you planning to update this melin? And have you been making small edits to the sound mod, but keeping the same name v2? (Since the other sound mods have been updated over the weekend)
No, version 1 was bugged and didnt work as intended, so between version 1 and 2 i tweaked the sound, and im not sure if i will updater anymore, I may be looking to tweak it a little more ,and those that have the orginal sound have not updated those sound i use and even if they do i will not use there sound again. I will fix this sound first and hunt for my own sound if I think i miss something. I wants to try to get the orginal Navel sound back, but how Im not sure, So maby a new version =) I don't promise that.
Could you have a look at the naval cannon sounds? I would love to have them refined a but more.
Having trouble getting this mod. Filefront is being a pain in the butt...
Upload this file to multiple sites, so its easier to download. Thats probably the reason not many people have downloaded it. It is by far the best sound mod I have heard.

This mod doesnt seem to work for me with the latest patch.
This is a mod.pack, do I need script entry? Or can I just change it to a patch format using the Pack File Manager?
EDIT: Fixed problem, works fine once I changed the format to patch type.
