    I'm sure the patch/update from CA has overridden some necessary mod files somewhere, Boicote is probably(hopefully) aware of the problems and is updating IG to be compatible as we speak,

    You are not a nosy bastard . I’m glad you are enjoying IMPERIUM GLOBALE .
    Answering to you post, this mod is not exclusively about the Portuguese Empire . Of course, it’s necessary to do lot of modding around this faction because it was not a playable in the vanilla game.
    The future of the mod will depend on the possibility of adding new regions and continents, but the modding community doesn’t even know if that is really possible (I guess it is) and what are the hardcoded limitations. So, it’s difficult to me to say how exactly the mod is going to be, but I guess these are my priorities:

    -Adding more regions, especially in the coast of India
    -Adding South America and some of the Atlantic archipelagos. To maintain some coherency in the game I have create several emergent nations in South America.
    -Adding the East Indies.
    -Adding south-west Africa.

    So, as you can see, the priority is adding land. Faction will come with it (for example, if I’m successful in adding south-west Africa, then I may want to include more factions).

    That’s because the new update of the game (released on 29/4) replaces the file “stratpos.esf”.
    I’m working on a version that will allow you to play IMPERIUM GLOBALE with the new patch without problems. Coming soon .

    Unfortunately is not possible to release the skins separately without releasing with it some files that will enter in conflict with other mods .

    I'm just waiting for someone to update the Pack File Manager (a tool used to create the mod). As you can see in this link, with the new patch, the tool is no longer compatible with some files .
    Without it, I cannot release the new version.

    Celereon, it happened before the patch, just never got around telling until now.
    Also, your Cacadores remind me of those from AoE3, but the still have their brown. Also, not exactly sure but the Cacadores don't need machined rifling unlike their replacement unit ingame, they just need a 2nd level barracks.

    could you guys possibly make a mod to unlock Morocco aND give them some professional units if so could those professional units look like the ones you made for Haiti expect the have uniforms and not rags or plain nothing [the Haitian light infantry look starved and wheres the Haitian navy?]

    i also was curious to know what easy and hard to do in the moding buisness

    Can i ask what version of the game you have? and if you have any of the special units installed?

    I have the standard version, but with the dahomey Amazons because i pre-ordered. Mod doesn't run for me either so i'm looking for some sort of link.

    A new version of IMPERIUM GLOBALE was released. This update is now compatible with the official patch released on 1st of May, includes some new features and has several bugs fixed. Please check the opening post:



    DOWNLOAD and INSTALLATION

    The current version of the mod is the version v1.01, and it's compatible with the official game update released on 1/5/2009. If you don't have this update, please install it with Steam. Then:

    1- Download the mod [LINK 1 (Filefront.com); LINK 2 (Mediafire.com)].

    2- IMPORTANT - Before install, please make a backup of the file "startpos.esf". This file is located in the folder C:\...\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data\campaigns\main. If you want to uninstall the mod, you will need to restore this file.

    3- Extract the file IMPERIUM GLOBALE v1.01.exe, double click on it and follow the instructions. NOTE: The installation folder should be the main game folder (C:\...\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war)

    4- When the installation is completed you will find a new shortcut in your desktop. Double click on it!

    This mod is "save compatible" but its advisable to start a new campaign, specially if your save is from previous versions of the game.

    To play IMPERIUM GLOBALE and Darthmod v1.8 without problems of compatibility follow the instructions:

    1- Install IMPERIUM GLOBALE
    2- Install Darthmod v1.8
    3- Download this add-on.
    4- Extract the file IMPERIUM_GLOBALE_darthmod_ADD_ON.pack, and paste it in the folder C:\...\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data
    5- Install the Mod Manager
    6- Open the Mod Manager and check IMPERIUM_GLOBALE_darthmod_ADD_ON.pack ; IMPERIUM_GLOBALE.pack; and darthmod.pack.


    7- Click in “Launch” to start the game.

    NOTE: If you want to play with IMPERIUM GLOBALE and Darthmod v1.8 you should not launch the game with the shortcut of IMPERIUM GLOBALE.

    Hi, just wondering if I had to unistall version 1.0 and then install v1.1 or do i just install version 1.1 on top of version 1.0?

    It's not necessary to uninstall the version 1.0. The version 1.01 will replace ALL files from the previous version.
