not sure i understand blackleaf???? anyway,
i looked throu them vista's post, (gulp) all looks a bit complicated.. think i will have to put up with the ctd's for now.. thou they have not been so bad on the normal campaign.. i do remember when i was playing 5.74 that the 1-name,un-named heretics might have been causing issue's, so ive been on a one man mission killing all the heretics everywhere, but didnt realise nearly all the rebel generals only have one name, even no-name some of them.. dunno how to get round that one..

These noname, one-name characters causing ctd theories seem not to holde truth for me. in 5.74 during my norge campaign (Historical campaign) i saw some one-named characters (especialy Generals) and i got a noname one in my famly and one whos name was:

nothing else
looked funny in all the popup windows for him getting maried and stuff.
but i did never get a singel ctd on campaignmap

I just destroyed the Scots and after I had taken their last settlement they ressurected a big army in my region and attacked one of my settlements. After I enter the battle and their first unit approaches my army the game freezes. I've tried to play it two times by now, and it always ends up like this. Do you have any advice?

I had same thing in DLV 5.83 with mongols. Back then freezing was caused by some archer unit. Game was stopping when those archers were switching from bow to secondary weapon. So my advice is you should try to play custom battle using the same units the Scots has in this campaign battle and see if it freezes agian.

to the two fellows up, welcome. The problem can be solved....

(If you have a freeze in battle) Then it's b/c of the A.I. To correct it, you need to Install Taijis Battle Ballance in the mini-mod section.

Thank you for your advice. I tried something else - instead of attacking them right away, I waited 1 turn and defeated them without any problem with game freezeing..
