Long Islanders are funny

They think they are better than the rest of the NYers. And I just don't mean you. All the Long Islanders I have met that have moved up north are all cocky sobs

The Capitol was the most expensive capitol building built in the country... It cost something like half a billion dollars in 1890's money TWICE as much as the national Capitol in Washington D.C.

The Alfred E. Smith building was very expensive as well, but was built during the roaring twenties so it's really no surprise. It was modernized for about 100 million or so fairly recently.

The Empire State Plaza was a huge Rockefeller project during the sixties. They knocked down run down ethnic neighborhoods where the plaza and the highway now exist. It cost almost 2 billion dollars to build!!! But it houses over 13,000 workers now and still isn't enough as an office campus uptown and leases office space in various buildings around the capital district.

Well it kinda is, no offense to any one else... http://images.businessweek.com/ss/09...est_zips/1.htm on a newer version of that list im on it. Anyways please get this, we just see outselfs as different, not better, be it because of geography culture wealth NYC is up for debate. As we see it our money is being drained and disperesed over the rest of the state which is true in someway. Put it this way if Albany lost LI there would be a loose in money dont deny that. Argument weather we should be out own state is up for debate, yes the OP had some good points but we have ours too. Anyways NY regarldess in the best state!

Oh and we are cocky that 100% true, i thought all of NY was that was but i guess its only (real)NYC and long island.

Sorry if im insulting you, i already tried ending it.. And yes you are gith about our but 95% of people i know think of us differently though i cant really prove it so it dosent really matter then.
