Certainly not what Cannibal Corpse does...I'm not even sure what thethat is.
On the other hand, Disturbed sings, and they vlaim to play Classic metal.
It's funny because it's true!HahahahaThanks, I needed a laugh.
They cite AiC as one of their chief musical influences, hell they even got their name from an AiC songI'm not the biggest Alice in Chains fan, but from what I have heard they sound NOTHING like Godsmack.
Cannibal Corpse isn't traditional metal, they are death metal.
You're 13 and listen to Godsmack and Disturbed... add Slipknot to the mix and you have a textbook definition of "mallcore kiddy."
I could cite BB King as influence in my (nonexistant) black metal band. Does that make me sound like him? No. It only means I was influenced. They cite AiC as one of their chief musical influences, hell they even got their name from an AiC song
Who would win in a Subculture War: Mallcore Kids or Scene Kids?
You sure praise them like traditional metal.
You're...however old you are and you alienate yourself from understanding by most people by listening to damn near universally-criticised music. You're 13 and listen to Godsmack and Disturbed... add Slipknot to the mix and you have a textbook definition of "mallcore kiddy."
For the love of god, tell me you hear a similiarity; the way they sing, the guitar style, anything. It will restore my confidence in you.I could cite BB King as influence in my (nonexistant) black metal band. Does that make me sound like him? No. It only means I was influenced.
I don't recall praising CC, if you could quote the post then fair enough.
And I don't "alienate myself," I listen to several genres besides metal (rock, punk, some rap, blues, classical, techno, Irish folk and whatever the hell R.E.M. is)
I'm on my phone so I'll compare them tomorrow. And to hell with your confidence.
You post them quite often and always criticise me for posting Godsmack and Disturbed while you post music with lyrics that nobody except you can(somehow) understand.
Well, that's good then, you still have hope. I just can't seem to get it through your head that Alternative Metal and Nu Metal are forms of metal. It's not as heavy as the stuff you listen to; so is Metallica, or Pantera, or Megadeth, or Motorhead, hell, Disturbed is heavier than most of them(drop C/drop C# tuning, metallica did that ONCE and got mixed reviews)And I don't "alienate myself," I listen to several genres besides metal (rock, punk, some rap, blues, classical, techno, Irish folk and whatever the hell R.E.M. is)
That's quite an alienating comment, young man.I'm on my phone so I'll compare them tomorrow. And to hell with your confidence.

It's not just the heavyness, plenty of good metal isn't that heavy, like atmospheric black metal
I look up the lyrics if I feel the urge to know what they are "singing" about. Which is very rare, as lyrics don't matter as much to me as how the vocals sound. I don't remember the last time I posted CC anyway.
Dropped tunings alone =/= heaviness. Metallica's first three albums are much heavier than Disturbed, and everything they put out after those albums sucks anyway.

I don't even need to look up the lyrics to know what they're singing about. Most of the song names do that for me.
"Fishhook Sodomy"
"Addicted to Vaginal skin"
"I Cum Blood"
etc.
Sex and cannibalism. Nice.
You don't think ...And Justice For All is good?Dropped tunings =/= heaviness. Metallica's first three albums are much heavier than Disturbed, and everything they put out after those albums sucks anyway.
And if dropped tunings doesn't affect heaviness, what does?
Like I said, I generally don't care about lyrics.
And I edited my post. I meant to say drop tunings alone don't create heaviness. Heaviness (at least imo) comes from the actual guitar riff/bass lines, drum beats, lyrical themes (to an extent ) atmosphere and attitude of the music. Tuning does affect it, as an electric guitar is much heavier sounding than a mandolin, but it is not the only aspect of heaviness.
And no, I did not enjoy And Justice... at least I don't anymore.
Okay, so we've got that covered, good.
Apologies if I sound like I'm just ninning at this point. And I edited my post. I meant to say drop tunings alone don't create heaviness. Guitar riff? Disturbed and Godsmack both have riffs that can be very long(one of Disturbed's longest was 18 notes in a riff, and one of Godsmack's was 20, both close to the same amount that Metallica can put in, no?).
Alot of their Bass lines often match their guitar riffs in terms of rhythm and note persistence(Disturbed's Inside the Fire and pretty much any one of Godsmack's songs except for Voodoo do that).
Shannon Larkin(Godsmack drummer) has been said to worship at twin altars of Pearl Heart(I believe his name was) and John Bonham, whereas Mike Wengren(Disturbed drummer)...well, look at this:
And what certain lyrical themes qualify as Heavy? Disturbed has done stuff with wild animals, insanity, loneliness, etc. Alot of borderline emo stuff.
Why, because I mentioned it?And no, I did not enjoy And Justice... at least I don't anymore.![]()
I'm going to bed but I will be able to reply better in the morning.
Okay, fair enough. Good night, mate.![]()
LB compared to Disturbed ising Slayer compared to Britney Spears .
I can't believe that only theiest of
bands appeal to you
( and of course he has to read in wikipedia what genre are they )
.
OH and Godsmack could being Mozarts but they are not metal .

Popularity is the number of people liking something. If something is liked by alot of people it is popular.
But now you bring it up, I suppose Metallica is pop-metal. It's popular, and it's thrash so it's metal.
Yes that's exactly why we all said hendrix was metal.

Except Disturbed is heavier than LB.
You're talking?I can't believe that only theiest of

And all of the bands below could be the heaviest bands in existence and not be good.OH and Godsmack could being Mozarts but they are not metal.
And you're calling my musical interests horrible?
Holy crap, I've gone all this time without knowing that "pop" was short for "popular"
I was talking about the years the musicians were active. Unless you weren't being sarcastic right there...Yes that's exactly why we all said hendrix was metal.
