Ah The Devil Wears Prada! Saw these guys back in October, the best band I have seen live aside from Slipknot, and Mike, The Singer, is the nicest guy ever, he gave me a hug hahah! But I have a question,
Why should Metalcore and Hardcore be less respected than any other genre? You call The Devil Wears Prada or any other Metalcore band 'juvenile', yet TDWP are all christians, all over the age of twenty, they dont sing about killing people and raping dead bodies like many other metal bands out there, they sing about life, their problems, god, what is happening in the world and what is true to them. The only difference I see to the bands the majority of you listen to are the fact that they are a lot heavier, and scream. But I don't even think it's the screaming and heavy part, as I see a lot of you are posting Lamb Of God and Meshuggah songs etc. Maybe it's because of the image that the term Metalcore brings along with it? Maybe something like this? (PS, Im going to use a lot of words that may seem contradictory, but to clarify when I say 'Sc3ne' I mean the bad Metalcore, and When I say 'Scene' I mean other bands, music venues, people etc. Also, when I say 'Hardcore' that means the whole 'core' genre overall, and when I say Metalcore I mean that specifically.

That band is Design The Skyline. That is my most hated band of all time. Before I go on Ill explain to you the two types of Metalcore.
The first one I will explain to you is the 'sc3ne' side of Metalcore. Sc3ne is the side that contains bands that wish to get nothing more than drugs, money and girls from their music, which normally results in their music sounding generic (chug, little riff, chug, little riff) and boring. Sc3ne is mostly comprised of bands such as:

Now you're probably going to say "But Evile, There's a reason theyre so popular!" Well yes, there is! Because The majority of what they sing about is how sad they are, how much they want to kill themselves, how much they like to take drugs, how much they like to drink, how much they like to have sex, etc. All fairly conflicting right? Because they know that what the majority of young teenagers (12 - 15) will think that it is 'heaps c00l' and start to listen to it to show other people how much they 'd0nt giv3 A' and how 'rebel' they are. And they mostly look like this:

HERES THE FLIP OVER
This is the good side of Metalcore. This is the side that sing about things that actually mean something to them, their beliefs, their families, their relationships and yes, sometimes how sad they are, the difference being that they mean it. Some examples of good metalcore are:

Those are some of the many good bands.
And I know what you're probably going to say "No such thing as good Metalcore lol"
Thats fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion, Im not asking you to like the good bands, im asking you to respect them, im asking you to hate the sc3ne bands, not to tolerate them, they are the ones who give metalcore a bad name. And before you think im someone who defends metalcore whenever I can, thats not true. This is the first time I have done this over the internet, and I thought that on a forum of (mainly) mature adults I might have a chance of getting it through. Look at my name and profile picture, Evile and Tyler, The Creator. I grew up listening to Thrash Metal and Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and all of those bands, name a band and I probably like them or at least respect them. I don't like Justin Bieber, but I respect him, he has spent his whole life focusing solely on music and because of that he made it at the age of 16, and was almost instantly a millionaire. And thats what almost every single Metal band does, including Metalcore. Guys in Metalcore bands (apart from the sc3ne ones) know they are almost certain to never make millions, they throw away career paths, I know guys who have even had to live on the streets for months at a time, they do all of this to make music they love and they think others will love too, so if not for anything else respect them for that.
And I would do this for any genre that has a bad side and a good side to it, rap, pop, you name it, because I listen to almost everything and enjoy almost everything.
Take that for what it's worth or flame me, I don't really care, but that's what i have to say
Now if you don't mind, I believe I've earned the right to continue with my Satsuma campaign with all that typing done.

Asking Alexandria (probably one of the biggest sc3ne bands on the planet)
Make Me Famous (these guys are the biggest douchebags in the entire hardcore scene)
Brokencyde
Capture The Crown (These guys have never played a single show and have three songs released and have accumulated over 2 million views on youtube, because they sound EXACTLY like Asking Alexandria, plus they are Australian, and they are quickly ruining The Hardcore music scene in Australia)
Escape The Fate
Falling in Reverse. (theres so many more bands like this but too many, these are some of the most popular).
The Devil Wears Prada Of Mice And Men (this song is about Austin's, the screamers, mother who died of Marfan Syndrome when he was 16, which he also almost died of, he was an alcoholic for a long time after that, and was one of the biggest douchebags in music for a time, but quickly turned his life around and is now considered the nicest and most genuine person in Metalcore) Northlane (From Sydney, seen them over 5 times now, really great people to talk to) The Bride (Also from Sydney, note the guitarists Mullet, making him the antithesis of all things sc3ne)
