[ETW AAR] De Nouvelle Orléans à Louisbourg

Nouvelle Orléans à Louisbourg, is a new French AAR concentrating on the French territories in the New World.

The French position in the New World is tenuous, the "perfide Albion" look set to increase their presence in North America.
Their territory, the 13 colonies are said to be willing to be annexed by these treacherous parliament loving englishmen.

After they take control of their colonies, they might set their eyes upon New France, to have the control of the whole of North America.
Though it is not just the English who are to be watched, to the unknown west, their are natives to conquer and territories to unite.
Further south, the Spanish, our faithful allies have a strong hold on the south of the continent and with their help we should make any British aggression self destructive.

If we act fast enough we could stop any British expansion in the New World, we just have to unite the territories of New France and Louisianna.

We could also profit from the pirate presence in the Caribbean, using our base in the Windward Islands to take over the criminals lands.
And finally we have Cayenne in the south, whose position seems safe, neighboring a strange cheese eating sandal wearing people.

Our Gracious King has decreed that the territories in the New World are to be united, you, commanders of the Royal French Army are hereby ordered to use all military force at your disposition to invade the territories held by the native "Iroquois Confederacy".
No requirements are forced upon you for the safety of the civilian population, for they are very likely to resist the invasion.
After the unification of the territories, we shall be in a powerful position to resist any hostilities from the 13 colonies and Upper and Lower Louisiana shall come under our direct control.

Because you don't have anything but an intro yet. Nothing happened, you just have to start a campaign to see the same. I'm sure you will get posts after your first update.

During a peaceful expedition into Iroquois territory, in order to negotiate a trade agreement to link New France and Louisianna commercially, Governor Duquesne was ambushed and killed by a group of Iroquois sons of cattle and his scalp was sent back to Montréal.

The government in New France only had one option in dealing with these murderous thugs.
An army was sent to take all territories south of Montréal in order to punish these natives, who did not know how to behave around civilised people.
And thus the new governor in the north american theatre, François de Lisle, was obliged to declare war.

An old Hero in North America, a man with a great amount of military experience against the natives, Philippe de Vaudreuil, an old man, was sent to punish the Natives, and ordered to avenge the killing of the governor in a most suitable way.
He was to attack the Iroquois "city", as these uncivilised peoples call a village, a place called Cayuga.

Despite this conflict, the colonies are continuing to grow, in Acadia and Newfoundland new settlements are popping up everywhere and Louisbourg and Bonavista have become large enough to host new industries, a military port being constructed by His Emminence King Louis XIV.

The lands are flourishing, farmlands are abundant industry growing and it seems that many people are dissatified with the state of their lives, for many of them are coming to live in the New World.

Anyway my war with the Iroquois should be quite interesting...

-The diary of Jean-Jacques De La Montugne, commanding officer of the 1er Régiment de Montréal-

1st February 1707: I have been given orders to recruit a regiment in the lands next to Iroquois territory, I am to recruit men who have known these savages for most of their lives, who have lived next to them, who have experienced their raids and kidnappings, I am told that my regiment will serve in the invasion of the lands sepeating the Kings possessions.
It gives me great honor to know that a shall serve His Magesty in such a useful way.

15th March: With my regiment recruited I have recieved the news that our General shall be Phillipe de Vaudreuil, an excellent general, despite his age, who has had much experience in fighting the "Sauvages".

23rd April: We have recieved news that we are to march to the territories south of Montréal and destroy the natives who are responsible for the death of our Governor.

4th July: After a month of fighting we have finally arived in front of the Confederacies provincial capital, we are soon to assault, but we have faith in our commander, for he has made sound decisions up until now and many a man in my regiment owes his life to the tactics of our general, however we commanding officers are told that the battle will be difficult for their are many natives within the city and that they shall fight to the last man and despite our technological and moral supperiority we may suffer many casualities.

7th July: The battle took place yesterday, I still cannot believe what has happened to are forces, the battle started off well, les "Foudroyeurs" pouring fire into the ennemy ranks.

The ennemy were manoeuvering into a better defensive position, many of their forces movements were hidden by the thick forrests that this continent is caracterised by.

Then in a strange move, or so we thought at the time, the general sent a column of men to assault our ranks.

Needless to say that the charge was over quite fast, many of their men falling to our expert firing, finally they were surrounded and routed, however despite his entourages warnings of ambushes, the General decided that the best route of action was to run down the routing natives.
