Darthmod 1,2 download is commander edition only...

Just asking, can we get the normal version? I like the Commander edition, but it's not quite for me. I prefer the normal "Huge" unit sizes.

I think the small size on the Commander edition should be close to the huge sizes in vanilla. Could be wrong.

I'll actually probably wind up using "Normal" unit sizes or something.


My problem with "huge" size in Commander is that I can't make 3 rank deep armies, only 4 rank deep. The PROBLEM with this is that rank fire only works for the first 3 ranks.

Actually, the Medium size is the closest to vanilla Ultra. Just tested, Cav has 60 units, like vanilla does, and line infantry has 150 units, slightly lower than vanilla. Though you do have less artillery as well, and that's a drawback imo.

Medium size has 150 unit line infantry, 125 unit grenadiers, 200 militia... Instead of 160 160 160 as in normal darth's. Hm.

Actually those numbers sound pretty good to me, and only reflect the sizes on huge as well (obviously)...

I think I am good to try out large for my next campaign...

We can't judge Darth for not wanting to do double work for each version.

In any case, can someone post what are the minimum pc specs (approximately of course) for each setting (i.e. normal, huge...). For example, I have an AMD Athlon 3800+ (approx. 3 years old) with a 9800GT vga. What setting should I run the mod?

However, if we could know exactly what files have changed, it'd help to self "rebuild" a v1.2 "standard" edition.

I just used the pack manager to quickly change unit numbers in 1.2 to those in standard version 1.1.
I attached the zipped darthmod.pack. Just unzip it and overwrite the original 1.2 darthmod.pack.

Unfortunately Commander edition 1.2 small unit sizes gives a single canon to a unit, which means you cannot really use Commander edition for balanced battles with 100-150 line infantry. Thanks to Being Earnest for posting a modified Commander Edition 1.2. With more than 150 line infantry my CPU is brought to its knees.

Yeah the biggest problem with less than Ultra settings in the commander edition are the small artillery units. That pretty much makes the commander edition unplayable with any other than the ultra setting.

I play on Large Unit size with Cmnd edition and I still get 4 arty per regiment......line inf is 225....Dragoons are 120, light dragoons are 90, Grenadiers are 185.....not that much of a difference....in compared to vanilla large.....aprox. twice the unit size.....but it is rather fun
