    Default Dark Age Humour

Although, of course, no one laughed during the Dark Ages (I've seen all the movies, documentaries and read the books!) we here, for your amusement, will make you merry with a good ol' joke or two upon the topic of the Viking Invasion II world....

    I'll begin!

Why did Erik the Viking land his dragon ship on the east coast of England at noon but not disembark to raid and pillage until mid afternoon?

Yup, especially as the sails were up (or is that "down"?)

Next: Why are the waters between the British Isles and Scandinavia so bad and terrifying for ships?

Warning: this one is especially lame!

    Nope,

    the answer is:

    because it was nordsea (naughty/naughtsy)

I told you it was bad. I hope someone else can come up with some or else you will have to suffer mine

(and the average human being can only take so much!)

Next: Why were the people who lived next to Kent (Cantware) always apologizing?

When the Vikings attacked, the third son, AEthelred, was on the throne...the Danes on the Berkshire Downs and inflicted their first serious defeat...would accept West Saxon lordship, or even prefer it to the Danes...I don't know...tell me!

Q: How did the Viking invasion of England begin?

A: Well, it all started when some chap cried "An 'orse! An 'orse! My kingdom for a Norse!"
Protein cores made in the rough endoplasmic reticulum are posttranslationally modified by glycosyltransferases in the Golgi apparatus, where GAG disaccharides are added to protein cores to yield proteoglycans; the exception is hyaluronan, which is uniquely synthesized without a protein core and is "spun out" by enzymes at cell surfaces directly into the extracellular space.
