    Default How many words.

We will just do a poll on this to settle the matter.

    What should it be.

    1. Post a short text about this picture, with min. 200 max. ????? words, in a spoiler.

I like a longer limit because it let's me get more in - I know it's harder on a limit but hey, I reckon that 800 would suit my story making style better !

EDIT: In case you couldn't guess, I voted for 800

I really don't think 800 words would be a good idea. I mean, sure you can get a better story, but your should also see that they are 800 words per submission. IIRC, the reason why it was lowered to the 400 limit is that some people thought that with longer stories most people would bother reading them all. If they don't read them all, they either don't vote, or vote for the one of the ones they read they liked the most. I think 400 might be too short too, but also 800 is just too much. I vote for 500, just to increase it a little.

EDIT: Also, just for the record, I think that if people go beyond the limit, they should be told to make them shorter or be disqualified if they don't (you know, if the limit is 400 and a guy made a story 414 words long, well, imho that ok, but if it is much longer then yeah he/she should cut it).

Elendil's story was pretty cool (I think I repped you..or at least thought it ) but a story that long seems to have too much of an advantage over the others.

On a side note...I almost wrote "OOC:" when I made that edit XD. freakin yats...

If every story is like 800 words long and you have 10 submissions. Then people maybe are not going to read all the stories before voting.
I voted for 400, nice short and challenging.

Well when this poll ends the amount of words that get the most votes will be the one that will be submitted in the rules and this will be the final change of them. At least as long as i am waving the flag around here.

Voted for 500. The old 400-word limit was a trifle too short at times, but after all a TOTW story is best short, sweet, and to the point. Some of my best stories have been under 300.

500 seems appropriate to me. Usually when I have entered some times i've had to snipp a few things out to get under 400, but that's about it.
