I decided that Ill post some info on some of Japan's most respected historical figures and discuss them with you.

This week,

Sakamoto Ryoma

Worshipped by many Japanese citizens as the greatest visionary that Japan produced, Sakamoto Ryoma was responsible for creating the Satsuma-Chousu alliance, thus starting the overthrow of the outdated Edo shogunate and the foundation of the Meiji Revolution and the modernization of Japan. Although, due to his untimely death, he was unable to fufill his dreams of a completely democratic and strong Japan that would hold strong as a eastern stronghold against the tide of western Imperialism, his visions were carried on by other revolutionaries.

Interesting, I lacked japanese history due to my abandoning of the japanese lessons, because of tight time to do my other work.
