I would say no.
I know of no references to it being used in battle, but if you know a reference please post it.

No as in 'not possible' or no as in 'not a good idea'. I remember hearing somewhere that the ancient greeks used it, so perhaps Julian, in his effort to appear 'Hellenic' would have eventually began it's use.

I'm afraid it doesn't fit this time period. Greek Fire seems to have been in use by the Eastern Romans from the 6/7th Centuries.

I believe it is rather possible to put some Barbarian fire into Rome

IMHO, Greek Fire does absolutely not fit our historical era.
