When the militia reaches the archers:
no experience on archers: 40 kills
9 experience (3 gold chevrons) on archers: 95 kills

So experience on archers makes a huge difference.
Off course more experience means they have more training and more experience on Battles .

wrong place for this but we will not mind that for now

    first what .bin files

second for you problem delete the two geography files
Generally battle crashes are caused by a time stamp error in the descr_geography files. Deleting these two files in the TATW data folder should fix the problem: descr_georgraphy_new database file and descr_georgraphy_new text document. Another method is to disable daylight savings time on your computer

Is it possibel to fight a siege /settlement battle as a fieldbattle ? Except for custom ones .
I dont like how the AI performs on a siege / settlement . To see thousands of enemy soldiers bunched up in middle of settlement just to get killed by arrow hurt my heart . So is it possibel fight a siege /settlement battle on a fieldbattle ?

Bree is your best chance. Use one of your better governors in the settlement (a.k.a either Aragorn or Gandalf; the other naturally put in Annuminas), low taxes and all pop growth buildings till you can upgrade settlement and the barracks. Will take a little while but be done before you have got Arnor up hehe
Beside Bree you can get them in Fornost, Staddle and both Tharbad

Take this question to the Mod Workshop, it is a mod matter and not a TATW matter, beside that there you are much more likley to find folks who now how the heck to solve that kind of advanced modding haha

I usually get Arnor something like ten turns after I build the first GG :-(

On another sad note, I have tried all the various new settings for the forum and I dislike them all. Any chance of us getting either the old one back or something better instead?

No, now that we have upgraded to vBullentin 4.2 we'll just have to wait for the talented people over at Conent Art to make new forum skins, which I've heard is already under progress. There are two alternate skins already though and the test skin looks similar to the old one.

Is it an advantage to have more unit mass or denser unit? It seems as though the tighter formation makes them more susceptible to getting surrounded by normal formation enemies. Once they are surrounded/flanked, they start taking more casualties.

What are the situations in which shieldwall should be used then?

I don't like very much the new board .. anyway, I've been out for the last days, so I lost the change. Is there any post in which I can read what changed exactly?

    Thanks
