    I thought Tyranid is only in Warhammer 40K??

    Either way, I am not interested about Warhammer Universe - sorry but Medieval setting is not fun.

    I prefer WH40K. However there is seldom a chance to play nowdays. Ah...the good old days of careless youth
    Ugly as the north end of a pig going south

It was good fun and the shop guys used to do deals. But I stopped in 2000, because the rise in price was just insane, I had a look recently and the cost is just ridonkulous, as fun and satisfying as it is, the price is so off-putting!

    Warhammer Fantasy seems a lot more gory/gritty nowdays, it was more Lord of the Rings or a Hammer horror movie when I collected, but now its grim. The level of skill in the artists is just amazing, so much better than before!

    For the record, I had Necromunda/Gorkamorka! (Old School!), Fantasy Orks with about 4 giants. And tyranids, The really crappy looking old old ones, when the Hive tyrant had a metal whip!

    How do people fund such activities nowdays?, especially youths!
    I mostly fund it by the occasional great deal on ebay.

Though they sweep over our lands like the sands of winter, never again will we bow before them; never again endure their oppression; never again endure their tyranny. We will strike without warning and without mercy, fighting as one hand, one heart, one soul. We will shatter their dreams and haunt their nightmares, drenching our ancestors' graves with their blood. And as our last breath tears at their lungs; as we rise again from the ruins of our cities...they will know: Helghan belongs to the Helghast." -Scholar Visari

    Yes, I miss those times too

    On a more serious note: sure GW's prices suck but there are always ways to get the models cheaper as there are a lot of retailers that offer them on a discount especially if you order a whole lot together with some other people.
    At least for me, and in respective to buying models, the current global financial situation is near perfect as the exchange course for euros/pounds is nearly 1:1 meaning I can get a lot of the models for less than half the German GW price if I buy them on British sites that already offer them with a discount

    Warhammer fluff is much more interesting today.
    After very incredible five books about Druchii Malus Darkblade
    they got few novels about Chaos Wastes .The palace of the Plague Lord and Blood for the Blood God . Ouch I'd not recommend
    those ones-they are way too nasty .Man has to be a coroner to be ..tuned to that stuff .
    Finlay, they are releasing series Time of Legends
    with books about Sigmar,Malekith and Nagash already in sale and some more stuff coming .
    Fitz Salnarville, Duke William's favourite knyghte,
    To noble Edelwarde his life dyd yielde;
    Withe hys tylte launce hee stroke with thilk a myghte,
    The Norman's bowels steemde upon the feeld.
    Old Salnarville beheld hys son lie ded, 235
    Against Erie Edelward his bowe-strynge drewe;
    But Harold at one blowe made tweine his head;
    He dy'd before the poignant arrowe flew.
    So was the hope of all the issue gone,
    And in one battle fell the sire and son
    .
